Dear Mother — The persistent Gophers are no more. These varmints have been a real nuisance, however we employed various methods to deter them from further destruction. Lt. Z’s take over was ferocious and deadly. The masked crusader ran the varmints out of the state. — KB

After taking a year off from ultra-early soybean trials, I took advantage of amazing soil conditions to get a 2 fold early trial. Planting date and @MeristemAg Hopper throttle. Also put 26 acres in for 150bu dry land trial. #plant25 #letsGO

Jan 31st, 2025, I may never forget this. Been doing March beans since 2018. Never had a March bean ave under 75. Asking these beans to sit for 3 months, conditions were beautiful. Frost is at 2.5-3 in. Planted 3.5 acres at 140k at 2-2.25 inches. If you don’t try you won’t know! #farming

The shortened fall N season will condense a lot of N applications into a smaller window of opportunity this Spring. The cost of N will likely be higher, logistics to keep supply at terminals will be challenged, and equipment to make timely applications may be stretched. A warm, dry, late winter will resolve many supply and logistical challenges, but it cannot be planned for or included as part of a realistic strategy. Plan now for a Spring that may be challenged with equipment availability and temporary product supply shortfalls. All the work will get done, and patience will likely be needed.

I have a used 3016 USC conveyor we are looking to unload. We went to a different conveyor for the seed treater. Belt is good. Still has 25-30k of seed to run before considering replacement. Message for more details. Located 61878 IL

This time of year I measure humidity by the number of times I fill my water and apply chapstick. It’s a REALLY good drying day.

Looking for some #pathology help from #agtwitter We have a hybrid that has pollinated and looks to have occurred an infection to shut down ear development ~2/3 weeks after. The plants are completely healthy looking and don’t necessarily show an accumulation of sugar in stalks

White Mold, not really surprised. I said a couple weeks ago the fuse was lit. Then cool stretch of weather hit. @AgSwtP2
