Just from the way he planted and the appearance of his leg after the play, #Tyreek looks like he most likely dislocated his knee and it was immediately reduced on the field. These are devastating potentially limb-threatening injuries, true orthopedic emergencies.

He’s on his way to the hospital for an angiogram to confirm no vascular injury and likely compartment monitoring, as vascular injury and compartment syndrome are the two most immediate threats to limb viability.

It’s always so surreal seeing these monsters offshore, so close and so devastating. I’m wishing all of my friends and colleagues in Northern Florida and the panhandle a safe ride. Evacuate if possible, but if not, please stay safe.

The single most effective means of disease prevention, without equal, is smoking cessation. Hands down.

Sports medicine doctor here. If this is your kid’s football coach, by all means, let him quit the team. Fact is that people absolutely die from extreme heat. Heat stroke is the 3rd leading cause of death in young athletes and it’s tragic that ignorant coaches like this exist.
Imagine your kid's high school football coach posting this on Facebook.

Orthopedic surgeon here. Shoulder Injury from Vaccine Administration (SIRVA) is a real issue. I’ve seen about 3 cases in 19 years. It’s very rare and unrelated to the COVID vaccine, just due to poor vaccination technique. It’s painful, but resolves and is not life threatening.

The dynasty lives. In one of the greatest games in FHSAA history, @SDEagleBaseball ties a state record with their fourth straight state title, thanks to a walk-off single by Nick Diaz!

Posterior shoulder dislocations often show subtle radiographic findings and can therefore be missed. That’s why the physical exam and a high index of suspicion is required.

If you’re a physician who has never had your ass saved by a nurse or pharmacist questioning your orders, just wait; it will happen. Until that time, best to check your ego. We’re a team.

It’s actually not possible to know everything, and your doctor shouldn’t be expected to. They just need to know how to effectively and efficiently find the most up to date information. And for the record, it’s usually not Google.

I only work with reps who make me a better surgeon. This is a terrible idea.
A bill introduced in Connecticut aims to ban surgical reps in the OR for the purpose of “patient safety” fastdemocracy.com/bill-searc… Whose idea was this? Did they ask surgeons? IMO it will be less safe for patients. We need advocacy @AAOS1 @AAHKS @otatrauma @MilOrtho

If you knew of all the bad shit living behind the clavicle, you’d never let anyone do this to you. Trust me on this.
What are risks of a clavicle piercing? Name any anatomy in area.
