We just raised $85M, Europe's largest ever robotics Series A, led by @CRV, with backing from @Samsung and @LVMH. But this story did not start today. Carla and Jia have been obsessed with robots since they were kids. They met as engineers at UPC, started the university's robotics club, and competed and won at an international level. Years later, that obsession became THEKER: a company built from Barcelona to be the largest in the world, and to crack the technical problems other people call impossible. Today we are well on our way to the goal we set on day one: solve 100% of physical work. Our robots are live in production, improving every day, and the pace is only increasing. This round is not the destination. It is one more step in the right direction. Thank you to everyone who got us here. To our team, who hold a standard most people would call unreasonable. To our customers, who push us to become better. And to our investors, old and new, who saw it before the rest of the world did. If this mission excites you, we are hiring across the board. Come build it with us. We will win.

Popular hardtech/industrial spaces i've been seeing a ton of pitches for lately: actuators/motors, turbines, next-gen manufacturing mostly in CNCing, UUVs, drones, nuclear, behind the meter energy (diff approaches), solid state transformers, different flavors of industrial automation.... what am I missing?

Every VC had a reason Vercel shouldn't exist. Guillermo Rauch heard a different reason from every investor he spoke to when building Vercel, and he kept going anyway. He joined us live at Mercury HQ in SF for Founders in Arms, and this was one of the sharpest moments in the conversation: the idea that consensus is a signal to walk away, not lean in. Full conversation with Guillermo Rauch (CEO, Vercel) on the latest Founders in Arms episode. Link in bio.

Such a wild dichotomy in today's market. If you are "king made" you can raise on nothing, but if you aren't, the burden of proof is higher than ever before. I just don't foresee this pattern changing any time soon unfortunately.

Unclear if a durable trend, but CEOs and CTOs are back to coding with a fury, thanks to coding agents. I have public company CEOs sliding into my DMs (and “InMail”) telling me about falling in love with shipping software again thanks to Claude Code and Vercel. “Dream accounts” that we always wanted to work with, where in the past the C-suite would hardly understand the infrastructure until much later in the game. Coding agents are the ultimate PLG-fication of the enterprise. Bad, legacy software can’t hide anymore. The stack that works is self-evident to the entire organization, from intern to CEO.

.@encord_team made the front page of the Sunday edition of the @latimes! The piece spotlights our R&D facility in Hayward, where robots and human operators are collecting the data needed for a new generation of Physical AI systems. The problems we are solving there are not trivial or obvious. Few people think to write down how much force it takes to pull open a fridge door, or how hard you can squeeze a paper cup before it buckles, or what grip keeps a coffee pot from sliding out of hand mid-pour. That data doesn't exist to be scraped from the internet. It has to be made from scratch, one repetition at a time, by a human pilot until it's clean enough to learn from. Robots do not become autonomous by magic. They become autonomous through millions of examples, corrections, edge cases, interventions, and repetitions. That is the work behind the work in Physical AI. Great to see it recognized on the front page.

“Today, we are at 140 people. We were at 200 people two years ago, and our revenue has grown 10x. If you think you're fast at 3x, there are native AI companies that are moving at 10x. So you're still slow. And you need to be 20x just to keep up with the 10x.” - from my conversation with @thazhmon, CEO and founder of @jeeves_inc

All Firewall mitigations are now fully free on @vercel. Not just DDoS and system-level mitigations, but also any rule you configure. Vercel now absorbs the computational and network costs of any size of attack or traffic mitigation for your peace of mind. (And more to come!)
All firewall-mitigated traffic is now free on Vercel. Starting today, you aren't charged for requests that are denied, challenged, or rate-limited by Vercel Firewall. This extends free DDoS mitigation to rules you configure. vercel.com/changelog/web-app…

This is the reaction we built it for. Drop your wishlist, we're listening.
Mercury is the single “product” that has improved my life the most. I have always hated banks, invoicing platforms, and corporate cards. They make all of these things so incredibly easy. I haven’t had to open QuickBooks in over a year now. They do not pay me. I am genuinely just this hyped on them. The only catch is that you’ll hate every bank you use after trying Mercury. If you need a “bank” for your business, I can’t recommend Mercury highly enough.

1/ Today @Mercury received conditional approval from the OCC to establish Mercury Bank, N.A. I started Mercury in 2017 to build the bank I wish had existed as a founder. Nearly a decade later, we’re getting there. 🧵

Big news: Not a bank yet… but Mercury has received conditional approval from the OCC to establish Mercury Bank, N.A. This is just the beginning, and nothing changes for customers today. Mercury was started to build the financial systems founders actually need and this is a huge step toward making that a reality. Stay tuned for more.
