what does one even say? one of the books to which i feel most sympathetic. i adore schmidt’s narrators’ tendency toward eremitic anarchism, their devotion to art and nature. i wish i had better german but woods’s english rendition is superior to most recent english prose.

Dalkey Archive 🤝 Goth Synth
This is why I fight for music (dedicating all of my brain to it all the time to get in on the loop on secret literary-musical developments and receiving sick @Dalkey_Archive packages from @pourfairelevide so I don't have to find new books myself)

The Tunnel Reader from @Dalkey_Archive has arrived. Going to spend my evening nodding as I read and muttering "just as I thought..." so people think I'm smart.

Finished. 👌⛏️🖤 fantastic collection of essays about an astounding work and the essays by Marraccini and Lawton remind me of Woolf for they are open-ended and at the same time confessional in the best sense and the essay by Joy Williams is a genuine treat
Finished. 🥶🤯🖤 My second Vollman, much less straightforward than "The Royal Family", genuinely never seen a narrative device like this and also now I want to live in the Arctic

J.P. Donleavy and Brendan Behan. Behan was a good friend of Donleavy's and the first reader of "The Ginger Man," of which he said, "This book is going to beat the Bible."
