President Trump’s war in Iran is driving up gas prices for Wisconsinites, but the damage doesn't stop at the pump. Rising fuel costs also put strain on the services that taxpayers rely on, pushing local governments toward growing budget deficits. jsonline.com/story/news/loca…

Highway crews, sheriff patrols, and park rangers all run on fuel. Every additional dollar spent filling tanks is a dollar taken away from the services our community needs. While my administration is working to reduce fuel use without impacting services, that alone is not enough.

Wisconsin taxpayers should not be forced to bear the burden of decisions being made in Washington. @POTUS must take this affordability crisis seriously and address rising prices before working families and the governments that serve them are left holding the bill.

Severe storms continue to march east across the area. Severe wx potential is increasing through 4 PM for all lakeshore areas, including the Milwaukee metro. Damaging wind gusts greater than 70 MPH & brief tornadoes are the main hazards. Seek shelter if in the path of these storms

Milwaukee's tourism sector continues to deliver extraordinary value for our residents, businesses and communities. This major milestone reflects the strength of our cultural assets, world-class venues, diverse neighborhoods and talented hospitality workforce. June is National Gun Violence Awareness Month, and here in Milwaukee County, we are united in saying: enough is enough. Gun violence is a public health crisis that affects too many families, too many neighborhoods, and too many lives. That’s why my administration is strengthening community-based violence prevention programs, expanding access to mental and behavioral health services, and investing in youth engagement efforts to create positive opportunities for young people. Together, let’s recommit ourselves to the work ahead: building a safer, healthier, and more united Milwaukee County—where every person can live free from gun violence.

June is Dairy Month, and I want the rest of Wisconsin to know that Milwaukee County has the dairy industry’s back! 🐄🥛🐄🥛 Wisconsin’s dairy industry has shaped the cultural, economic, and agricultural heritage of our state. The dairy farmers, processors, cheesemakers, veterinarians, haulers, workers, and agricultural professionals across the Badger State contribute significantly to the vitality of local communities and the overall strength of Wisconsin’s economy. To celebrate Dairy Month, I visited the @MilwaukeeCoZoo's Family Farm octagonal barn, where guests can visit five varieties of dairy cattle and explore the past, present, and future of Wisconsin’s dairy industry. I also had the opportunity to tour the brand new Dairy Cow Yard – a zoo-wide effort to build ample outdoor space for our dairy cows – and got to milk Sadie, a Black & White Holstein. This month, let’s recognize the contributions of Wisconsin’s dairy industry and celebrate the farmers, workers, and communities who carry this proud, enduring tradition forward.

This past weekend, we celebrated a milestone anniversary: The beloved Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center turned 50 years old! For five decades, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center has served as a cornerstone of connection, opportunity, and empowerment for generations of Milwaukee County residents. As we celebrate this milestone, we honor the legacy of Dr. King, show our gratitude for Ms. Dee and her staff, and reaffirm Milwaukee County’s commitment to creating safe, welcoming spaces where our community can gather, grow, and thrive together.

It was inspiring to see so many Milwaukee County residents come together at the annual Pride Parade to celebrate love, embrace inclusion, and support the LGBTQIA community that enriches our county every day. Pride is about honoring those who fought for equality, uplifting those who continue that work today, and reaffirming that everyone deserves to live authentically and safely. Milwaukee County is committed to building a community where every resident feels welcomed, valued, and respected. Happy Pride Month, and thank you to everyone who helped make yesterday's celebration so special!

@DavidCrowleyWI shared an update today on the progress being made at MCTS. Fare evasion is down, new buses are arriving & a system redesign is underway that will shape transit service for years to come. We are focused on improving service today while planning for the future.

The Milwaukee County Transit System is essential infrastructure for working families across our community. Today, we reported out the significant organizational and fiscal progress that we’ve realized over the past year in moving public transit forward in Milwaukee County. Through collaboration and new leadership, my administration has worked with the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors to sustain bus routes and paratransit service in 2026, address operating costs, reduce fare evasion, enhance safety, modernize core infrastructure, and take intentional steps to plan for MCTS’ future. While the progress we’ve realized is encouraging, we still face a serious structural funding challenge next year, as MCTS is one of the only major transit systems in the country without a dedicated source of funding. Looking ahead, I will continue advocating for the funding our transit system needs because the strength of our community depends on keeping people connected.

If we want a safer, healthier future for Milwaukee County, we must remain serious about combatting reckless driving. Today, I signed legislation authorizing the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office to impound vehicles for reckless driving offenses. This is the latest effort toward Milwaukee County’s Vision Zero goal of eliminating traffic deaths and serious crash injuries by the year 2037 and fostering safer streets for all who use them. The legislation I approved today strengthens that effort by aligning County laws with those of our state and local partners. Our local law enforcement agencies will now have a new tool at their disposal to target reckless drivers and prevent them from repeating dangerous behaviors that affect us all. Together, we will keep working to ensure our streets, roadways, and neighborhoods are safe for everyone – because lives depend on it.
