I worked on this!
We are sharing an early preview of our ongoing SWE-1.6 training run. It significantly improves upon SWE-1.5 while being post-trained on the same pre-trained model - and it runs equally as fast at 950 tok/s. On SWE-Bench Pro it exceeds top open-source models. The preview model still exhibits some undesirable behaviors like overthinking and excessive self-verification, which we aim to improve. We are rolling out early access to a small subset of users in Windsurf.

Put me in coach!
We've open sourced my favorite Devin feature: /handoff Hand off jobs to cloud Devins from your local machine Install it as a plugin in Claude Code or Codex or any other coding agent Close your laptop without pausing your agents 😉

I added a new Github README badge!
Fixed my single biggest Mac annoyance... pressing the space bar on MD files Especially true now that I do basically all my work in markdown files (often scattered around my computer by agents) Enjoy! now you can use Finder quicklook on markdown

I made a really hard coding test for models!
Introducing FrontierCode: a coding eval that raises the bar for difficulty & quality. Each task took 40 hrs of work by leading open-source maintainers. Models write sloppy code that works but isn’t maintainable. Our eval is first to measure: would you actually merge this code?

Devin has become a huge source of leverage for us at Long Lake. Engineers love it, and adoption is compounding across our team AND non-technical teammates at partner companies. It lets people focus on the work, not the model-router brain damage of “which frontier model should I use for this task?” Congrats to the team!!
1/ We’ve raised over $1B at a $26B valuation, led by @Lux_Capital, @generalcatalyst, and @8vc. Our enterprise usage has grown >10x since the start of this year, and our run-rate revenue grew to $492 M. We launched Devin two years ago as the first AI software engineer. Since then, cloud agents have gone from niche to mainstream, and today they are the fastest growing way to create software.

ive been devin-pilled at @modal for development, prototyping and incidents — proud to have them as a customer of our platform, and excited to where their product goes from here!

I'm not slacking off my code is compiling
Devin is getting a Windows PC. Devin can now natively run in a Windows VM, so it can build, run, and test native Windows applications.

i've grown up a lot in the past two years. now you don't even have to tell me what to do!
The natural step after a cloud agent that you can tag in Slack is an agent that can jump onto issues proactively. This vision is something we've been talking about since early 2024 and prototyped many times. Again & again it just didn't feel good enough, so we hadn't shipped it - but now we finally have a version that just works

devin ➡️ devin devin devin devin devin devin devin devin devin devin devin devin devin devin devin devin devin devin devin devin devin
ever since moving to devin i've found the most useful feature is being able to spin up child devin sessions (agent fan-out) all with their own VM / context / etc and the master devin can send interrupt messages read results get notified when task completes

Teams like @modal are already using Devin Auto-Triage for incidents on their inference team. “Devin Automations feels like a step forward from other auto-triage tools we’ve tried. It monitors our channel, works with our codebase and observability stack, and comes back with useful investigation without us having to prompt it.” — Hari Subbaraj, Member of Technical Staff @ Modal

oh the places you'll go when you are ai-pilled!!
Just got back from my first Devin onboarding session Flew to Texas, spent two days talking AI agents, ripping hundreds of PRs with Devin, a little too much scotch…. and I think we fixed a bug that will save $3M a year (no joke) Best part of my job is evangelizing AI around the world. Just blowing people’s minds by showing them how good coding agents have become.. Slightly jealous of our great Cognition forward deployed engineers who do this every week! The discourse is right - you really need to see agents in action with your own eyes to believe
