What if struggling to understand the Eucharist doesn't mean your faith is weak - but that you're taking Christ seriously? In *A Convert's Guide to the Eucharist,* Caleb Harlan, a convert to Catholicism and former Protestant minister, reflects on faith, doubt, and the beautiful mystery of Christ's Real Presence. 💭 "I believe; help my unbelief." — Mark 9:24 Caleb serves as Director of the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) at Holy Family Cathedral.🔗 tulsacathedral.com/staff/ You can find this issue on your coffee table — or read the digital edition here: 🔗 catholicmagazines.org/magazi…

Life is a gift from God - even in suffering. In the latest Eastern Oklahoma Catholic magazine, Fr. Sean O’Brien (Pastor - Immaculate Conception - Poteau, St. Joseph - Stigler and St. Elizabeth - Spiro) addresses the growing issue of assisted suicide and why the Church firmly upholds the dignity of every human life from conception to natural death. He reminds us that terms like “euthanasia” and “death with dignity” can obscure a deeper reality: every person, regardless of age, illness, or suffering, possesses an unchanging dignity as a child of God. Rather than responding to suffering with death, Christians are called to respond with love, care, compassion, and hope. Through hospice care, family support, prayer, and the grace of Christ, even the most difficult moments of life can become powerful witnesses to faith. “As Christians, we are called to protect life, care for the vulnerable, and proclaim the value of every human person.” Read the full reflection in the June 2026 issue of Eastern Oklahoma Catholic - catholicmagazines.org/magazi…

🎬 A story of faith, vocation, and joy is coming to the big screen in Tulsa! Local Catholic filmmaker Manny Marquez's documentary short, The Pursuit of Happiness, featuring the Religious Sisters of Mercy, has been selected to screen at this year's Circle Cinema Festival. “This is quite extraordinary to have a 20-minute film about the religious life screening in a secular film festival, and I feel the Holy Spirit is at work!” said Marquez. 📅 Sunday, July 19 🕧 12:30 p.m. 📍 Circle Cinema, Tulsa The film will be shown as part of a block of short films. Manny has a simple hope: to fill the theater with Catholics and anyone interested in learning more about the beauty of religious life. Join us in supporting this local filmmaker and celebrating a story that shines a light on the joyful witness of the Religious Sisters of Mercy. 🎥✨

Leonard Higgins and seminarians Joseph Jones and Evan Hathaway are returning home grateful for a week of faith, formation, and pro-life witness at the 55th Annual National Right to Life Conference. These final moments from their journey capture the heart of their vocation - Joseph assisting Fr. Higgins as he celebrates the closing Mass, and Evan proclaiming the Word of God during the liturgy. Thank you to Oklahomans for Life for sponsoring this experience for our seminarians, and thank you for keeping them in your prayers. 📚 David Dean, Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Tulsa & Eastern Oklahoma, recently joined Catholic education leaders from across the nation at Christendom College in Front Royal, Virginia, for the inaugural Front Royal Education Summit - a gathering dedicated to the renewal and strengthening of Catholic elementary and secondary education. The summit brought together bishops, educators, scholars, superintendents, philanthropists, and educational partners who collaborated on the Front Royal Statement: Seven Cardinal Principles of Catholic Elementary and Secondary Education - a document outlining the philosophical, theological, pedagogical, and methodological foundations of authentic Catholic education. Reflecting on the summit, Dean shared: "This commitment to renewal is providential in so far as it occurred on the same day that the bishops of our country dedicated America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Our bishops have called for a renewal of Catholics in their devotion to the Sacred Heart for the good of all the faithful and our country, likewise the members of this educational proclamation called for a renewal of Catholic education for the good of our students and our Church on the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus!" The statement serves as a roadmap for strengthening and renewing Catholic schools for future generations. 📖 Read the full Front Royal Statement: ow.ly/I9JU50ZbRPZ

🤍✨ Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary ✨🤍 💬 “Mary kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart.” – Luke 2:19 ➡️ One day after celebrating the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Church honors the Immaculate Heart of Mary, united perfectly with the heart of her Son. Mary's heart was filled with faith, humility, and complete trust in God's plan. Through every joy and sorrow, she remained close to Jesus, teaching us to do the same. As we reflect on the recent consecration of our nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we turn to Mary, our Mother, asking her to help us grow in love for her Son and to follow Him more faithfully each day. ❓ What is one intention, worry, or hope you can place into Mary's loving care today? 🙏 Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us and lead us ever closer to Jesus.
