Today, Val, the longtime volunteer adopter at Halesworth station, filled two new planters with lovely flowers. She used compost, cardboard & bits of wood; a great way to recycle & stretch the compost! The planters were funded by the East Suffolk Lines Community Rail Partnership.

Despite the weather folks turned out today @ Darsham station to start transforming the old goods yard into a wildlife area for the community & Darsham Country Centre charity. They made a start but brambles/trees still need clearing. Watch this space for the next working party day

On #ILCAD we highlight the importance of safe behaviour at level crossings. Level crossings are safe when used correctly, but distraction and complacency increase risk. No distractions 🤳🎧 #NoSecondChances

Although #CommunityRailWeek is coming to an end, we work throughout the year to help bring people together, with railways and stations. Whether it's a station art project, station walk, station garden, or day out by train for students, YOU are at the heart of everything we do.

What's the buzz all about @greateranglia Ipswich? The bees will tell you! They were spotted today having breakfast @ the memorial garden on the island platform. You'll find flower tubs and/or a garden @ each East Suffolk Lines station, all thanks to volunteers. #ComnunityRailWeek

We’re proud to be part of the #CommunityRail movement, which celebrates local stories & heritage, like this brilliant exhibition last September about the fascinating history of Westerfield station. It was put together entirely by the dedicated team of volunteer station adopters.

Going by train is one of the greenest ways to travel, so...we headed to @suffolkcc #Ipswich, set up a stall and talked with folks about the benefits of taking the train to work. We conducted a survey and gave everyone who filled one out a water bottle or cake! #CommunityRailWeek

As part of #CommunityRailWeek, we spent the morning @ Ipswich station & on the 0725 train to London handing out biscuits with a QR code that goes to a survey. It's all about learning how people use the train (commute/leisure/etc) to make it the best possible travelling experience
