Very proud to see this paper in @eLife! Great PhD work by @ViktorKewenig. Perhaps the first study (!?) that looks at word processing across situated and displaced contexts in naturalistic language. @ECOLOGICALBRAIN @LeverhulmeTrust
V happy that this study is now published in @eLife with nice reviews and a wonderful editorial assessment. Quantifying multimodal context (of spoken language) in naturalistic stimuli is not an easy task, but we hope this can provide some inspiration. 🧵elifesciences.org/reviewed-p…

Amazing work by our PhD students and supervisors!!!
Last week, neuroscientists at @UCLPALS and architects joined forces to study how people navigate built environments...by creating life-size simulations of the real world in an enormous laboratory! Read more! bit.ly/4d2GviU

Our paper on a game-theoretic agent-based approach to conflict modelling is now out in PLOS ONE.
Very excited to see this paper out! We use an agent-based model (ABM) rooted in game theory to study the microdynamics of conflict in northeastern Syria. We focus on retaliation and reciprocity between ISIS and Kurdish forces. @AkinUnver @mircomusolesi dx.plos.org/10.1371/journal.…

Two papers out on the same day! Using tasks from cognitive psychology we evaluate 7 LLMs and show that they display irrationality, but not in the same way humans do. They are often incorrect in ways that differ from human-like biases. @mircomusolesi royalsocietypublishing.org/d…

Great times at the @PaLSPPG conference at @CumberlandLodge, a former royal residence in beautiful Windsor. A unique opportunity to meet fellow PhD students and present our @ECOLOGICALBRAIN research. Also received the best poster award voted by my peers - now that’s royal to me!🫶

Really interesting for @ECOLOGICALBRAIN-ers!
How might our everyday actions change perception? Out today @NatureComms we show that walking rhythmically modulates how sensitive we are to the environment. The latest from my final days as a postdoc with @DAVElab at @UsydPsych OA paper: rdcu.be/dAAgE 🧵 1/7
