Peace is our Savior’s promise, and peace is our goal. This promised peace is the sense of well-being and serenity that comes from keeping His commandments. #40DaysOfPeace

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” It is not easy, and it takes practice, but you can *choose* not to be afraid. One of the lies of the adversary is that we have no choice in how we feel; we are simply beholden to every emotion that comes upon us. Day 38 of #40DaysOfPeace

We need to love and do good to all. We need to avoid contention and be peacemakers in all our communications. This does not mean to compromise our principles and priorities but to cease harshly attacking others for theirs. #40DaysOfPeace

Some people insist that they will only choose peace when their opposition also chooses peace. But peacemakers choose peace no matter the circumstances. Their goal and their aim is peace and their thoughts, words, and actions are all dictated by its pursuit. Day 37 of #40DaysOfPeace

I can do better. I can testify with more of the Spirit. I can be less reactive to others. I can focus more thoroughly on my mission and purpose here.

The "Word" is absolutely mightier than the sword. Have faith in the power of the word of God. #40DaysOfPeace
Part of being a peacemaker is understanding the power of the Word, as well as the power we give to diverting from that path when we choose contention. Be a conduit through which the Spirit can change the hearts of those who will be changed. Alma 31:5 churchofjesuschrist.org/stud…

Stop TRYING to be offended. If you're offended on a regular basis, it's probably because you enjoy it more than you're admitting. But it's stealing your peace. #40DaysOfPeace

Love your enemies #40DaysOfPeace
Often the right thing and the hard thing are the same. It’s definitely uncomfortable and stretches me. Serving an enemy doesn’t mean excusing them or putting myself at risk. Sometimes the kindest acts are quiet, anonymous, and from a safe distance.

"Tell the brethren to keep their hearts open to conviction so that when the Holy Ghost comes to them, their hearts will be ready to receive it. They can tell the Spirit of the Lord from all other spirits. It will whisper peace and joy to their souls, and it will take malice, hatred, envying, strife, and all evil from their hearts; and their whole desire will be to do good, bring forth righteousness, and build up the kingdom of God. Tell the brethren if they will follow the Spirit of the Lord they will go right.” JS #40DaysOfPeace

We need to work for a better way—a way to resolve differences without compromising core values. We need to live together in peace and mutual respect, within our defined constitutional rights. -Dallin H. Oaks #40DaysOfPeace

To argue with someone is to give their argument and opinion validity. If someone isn't willing to engage in a good faith conversation... ...It's totally fine to leave the situation and not engage. In fact, it's usually preferable. #40DaysOfPeace
