Earlier today, I had the honour of receiving the Honourable Minister of State for Education Professor
@Suwaiba_Said Ahmad and her delegation during their visit to Jigawa State for the monitoring and stakeholder engagement activities under the
@agileproject_ng Project.
Listening to the feedback from the team after their visits to AGILE projects was encouraging, not just for the government, but for every parent and every child whose future depends on access to quality education.
Over the years, we have continued to focus attention on improving school infrastructure, expanding digital learning opportunities, supporting vulnerable children, and reducing the number of out-of-school children across Jigawa State. The AGILE Project has supported many of these efforts in a practical way, especially in underserved communities where families often struggle the most.
I was particularly pleased to hear the Honourable Minister describe Jigawa as one of the leading states supporting girl-child education in Nigeria. That recognition belongs to our teachers, parents, school managers, development partners, and all those quietly working every day to keep children in school.
We also spoke extensively about technical and vocational education, alternative learning pathways, and the need to ensure that no child is left behind simply because of poverty or circumstance. These are challenges many families are dealing with every single day, especially in communities where opportunities are limited. Addressing them takes patience, consistency, and real work on the ground.
I sincerely appreciate the support and collaboration we have continued to receive from the Federal Ministry of Education. For us in Jigawa, every effort we make in education is about giving our children, particularly young girls a fair chance to build a better future for themselves and for their communities.
