I agree with this but it's kind of worrying to me seeing how many people, including Op, think that this is Hussie's doing when Andrew Hussie only wrote the first two routes (Ardata and Diemen), and the rest were written by others. Hussie didn't design Tagora either.

#PHP's foreach doesn't copy your array... Well, not anymore 😄
In PHP 7 , foreach creates an internal iterator (HashPosition) on the array. It walks arData linearly.
Copy-on-write protects you: if you modify the array inside the loop, THEN it copies.
No modification? No copy, zero overhead.
