But alas, people need to breathe once in a while. Whenever I feel down, I search for BaiLu's vlogs. She was always calm and happy in her videos while the me in front of the screen was always awkward and reserved. Later on, I started to learn how to open up and let go of myself. And unknowingly my grades started to get better and I stayed in the top 3 of my year and I ended getting into a very good high school. When I got into high school, we get new desk mates. I have never been good with people but at the first lesson while we're seated together, she wrote me a note on her book : "I like BaiLu, who do you like? " We just clicked and started talking about everything. We're laughing everyday and eventually becoming very good friends. During the college entrance mock exams for my senior year, I've been working for close to a year and yet my results just weren't improving. It was around March or April, right before the big important college entrance examinations and I was feeling totally lost. And then Story of Kunning Palace came out. I thought to myself well I have nothing to lose and devoted myself to watching all 6 episodes in one go. The next day I woke up feeling surprisingly light and went for my mock national college entrance exams and that exam alone, I managed to get into the top 100 names. And after that, for every mock exams I managed to stay in the top 60 for the whole year. To me, BaiLu is a lucky charm. When I started college, I remembered BaiLu saying she has never asked for living expenses from her family after she became an adult. I wanted to be like that too. So every cold morning and every scorching summer day I was working part-time. Now I don't ask my family for money but I was actually able to help them out when there's a need for money. I want to keep going just like BaiLu and hopefully I can buy a house for my parents as soon as possible. A couple of days ago, we have a student election for a position. I'm not good at all these but I braved myself and signed up because I needed the points for my comprehensive assessment. While making the PowerPoint slides, I had "The Little Ones" by BaiLu on repeat loop and before I knew it, I was getting teary eyed. "The little you with little strength, little me will be by your side". I ended my presentation with that song and eventually won the election. BaiLu, you may not know but on the other side of the screen, you've helped me countless times. I have no idea on how to be a capable adult but thankfully you were generous with sharing every part of yourself. It's like you're giving a public class on growing up, guiding me on how to get along with others and on how to get along with myself. On Keep Running, you taught me on how to be cheerful and humourous and you helped me make many friends. In TV dramas, you taught me on how I can bounce back from setbacks and make my dreams come true. In interviews, you told us to focus on ourselves and to take care of myself. #白鹿 1/2
