Lived in Billings MT. Make sure you exit the NE entrance, go through Cooke city and take the chief Joseph Highway into Cody WY. Neat stuff there. Also chief Joseph connects to beartooth Highway (or pass) which is amazing. If you can only do one, do the bear tooth highway

We stayed at Red Lodge and went over the Beartooth mountains for the north east entrance. The drive is spectacular.

Beartooth Basin, located at nearly 11,000 feet of elevation in northern Wyoming, is North America’s only ski area open exclusively during the summer months. “People who go up here for the first time are always blown away," co-owner Justin Modroo said.
