We have had various staff members recently doing Makaton training with Hope for Autism. The aim for the majority of staff is to help make our Bookbug sessions more accessible and inclusive with this brilliant skill.

The library where I was working was holding a Bookbug session. A few minutes before it was due to start there was hardly anyone there. Then one of the mums came in the front door and told us the back door (accessible to wheelchairs and prams) wouldn’t open. 1/2

We go to a free library class called bookbug near us, but it’s Scottish wide and during Covid a lovely lady called Hayley from Lanark library uploaded bookbug videos on YouTube that Sophie LOVES watching and just wanted to let her know how much my daughter’s face lights up 🤣

Currently kids get four BookBug bags before they start school and two Read, Write, Count bags (launched by John Swinney as Education Sec in 2016) in P2 and P3. Do they really need a 7th bag?

Woke up feeling like a terrible mum this morning. I’m sleep deprived, burnt out and honestly just haven’t been finding any time for me. So we went to a bookbug class and then got some fresh air. Her smiles make everything better 🩷
