Today’s second “Honorable” mention is from Trainer KingDeoxysTR (
@kingdeoxys_tl50) in Turkey 🇹🇷!
This postcard showcases a vibrant graffiti mural located on the wall of the Honda Japon Tuning Auto Repair Shop (
facebook.com/japontuning) in the Darağaç neighborhood of Konak, İzmir (
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Konak,…).
The mural showcases classic hip-hop and b-boy cartoon imagery, featuring a highly detailed character carrying a massive boombox stereo over his shoulder, a barking dog, and heavy golden chains.
It was created by Turkish street graffiti artist Omeria (
instagram.com/omeria?igsh=MX…) as part of the Darağaç Volta exhibition. He is an Istanbul-based graffiti artist and a pioneering figure of the Turkish graffiti scene. Painting in the streets since 1999, his signature style is heavily rooted in hip-hop culture, characterized by dynamic characters, precise aerosol techniques, and large-scale murals across cities like Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir. His style beautifully combines traditional wildstyle lettering with highly expressive, animated characters. A firm believer in the unifying power of urban art, his work often embodies the street art ethos, such as his popular mural piece, "We hope that someday all bombs are made of paint".
The Darağaç Volta Exhibition is an ongoing, site-specific contemporary street art and interdisciplinary project curated by the Darağaç Art Collective (
digitaldaragac.ieu.edu.tr/) in the historically industrial Umurbey neighborhood (formerly known as Darağaç) in the Alsancak district of İzmir, Turkey.
