Special Ed Teacher Accused of SA'ing Disabled Student.
A 63-year-old special education teacher from Queen City, Texas, is behind bars after an anonymous tip sparked an investigation into allegations of misconduct involving a disabled person and students at his school.
Jeffrey Parker, who taught special education at Pleasant Grove ISD was arrested this past Thursday in Cass County by Texas Department of Public Safety troopers, according to the Texarkana Police Department. He now faces one count of continuous sexual abuse of a disabled person and three counts of improper relationship between an educator and student.
The probe kicked off after an anonymous tip reached Pleasant Grove ISD Police Chief Jake Klar on the previous Monday. Texarkana Police Detective Tabitha Smith took the lead on the investigation, gathered supporting evidence, and obtained arrest warrants, as confirmed across sources like CBS19. Parker had worked in the district since the 2019-2020 school year and held a state teaching certificate for special education dating back to 2014, details verified through public records.
Pleasant Grove ISD officials acted quickly once they learned of the claims. The district removed Parker from campus immediately, stated he will not return, and is fully cooperating with law enforcement, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, and the Texas Education Agency. In a statement released to the media, the district emphasized that student safety and well-being remain the top priority and pledged ongoing support for affected students and families.
