"...it’s honestly the people around me that have kept me here. Calling someone by their preferred name is life-saving. Using correct pronouns is gender-affirming. And making sure trans kids are protected is changemaking." #ChannelKindness#BeKind365

Five years ago, what started as a protest became a movement.
We called it Anti-Racist Hot Dog.
At a time when the world felt increasingly divided, we chose an unlikely tool: food. We used hot dogs, music, and honest conversation to bring people together across lines of race, politics, faith, and identity.
This week, I learned that Anti-Racist Hot Dog is now featured inside the Obama Presidential Center as part of "Imagine Your Impact," a permanent interactive experience that introduces visitors to real stories of changemaking.
To say I'm humbled would be an understatement.
What began as a small act of hope is now embedded in a place that will inspire millions of people from around the world for generations to come.
Thank you to Stephen and every single person who helped build this movement. Thank you to my friends Josh and Stephanie for being among the first to visit and send me photos from the preview days before the Center officially opens to the public on June 18.
What's especially meaningful is that I received this news while on Day 43 of walking from Durban to Cape Town to fund my Harvard education and advocate for solutions to South Africa's housing crisis.
This walk and Anti-Racist Hot Dog are connected by the same belief: that ordinary people have the power to create extraordinary change when they choose courage over comfort and community over division.
Five years ago, I could never have imagined that a protest would become a permanent installation at the Obama Presidential Center.
A reminder that sometimes the smallest ideas, pursued with enough conviction, can travel further than we ever imagined.
Grateful. Inspired. And just getting started. ❤️🌭🇿🇦🚶🏾♂️

“I have a PhD and men are threatened by me” is not an argument. It is a posture.
You're in good company, like the woman who got a masters degree from George Washington University for her thesis on "Two-Spirit Decolonial Changemaking on Instagram" which relied on a sample size of three people.
We are all intimidated by your majesty and your intellectual prowess.
Shall we step aside while you lead the world into a golden age?
Wisdom itself shall die with you.

On June 19, 2026 (Juneteenth), the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago's South Side Jackson Park opens to the public.
After a June 18 dedication ceremony with performances and leaders, the 19.3-acre campus—including the presidential museum, new Chicago Public Library branch, community hub, athletics space (Home Court), and free outdoor areas—becomes accessible.
It's built as a hub for civic engagement, learning, meetings, and local changemaking, not a standard presidential library. Museum tickets go on sale today via obama.org.
