I saw a Chechen woman online who was being met w severe misogyny bc she said life was easier under the USSR as a Chechen woman comparatively to today. Misogyny has always been a problem in the region but the collapse of the USSR & Wahabism def made it worse
Some things never change. You'd still see this in Caucasus. Plenty of men don't even go to work under the pretense that only "feminine" jobs are available while their mothers or wives break their backs to feed them. They're more than happy to provide racists with ammo.

Why does Teddy Roosevelt look so Chechen here

Just as Putin's fascist Russia once bought up the entire Chechen Republic when it couldn't completely defeat it, and for 26 years now, Putin has been paying tribute to Chechnya.

In the North where people are mostly Muslim yes! Especially in Dagestan and Chechnya. I wouldn't say that it's super common, but it's not uncommon either. Russia even legalized it in Chechen republic at some point.

I didn’t know they made a film of this. I read the book and quickly realised that Le Carré had never met a Chechen in his life.
The aftermath scene of A MOST WANTED MAN (2014). Philip Seymour Hoffman walks away in silent despair after his plan is ruined—a powerful, wordless moment expertly played by Hoffman, as usual.

i dont think the owner was chechen. the unit i took it from was not one of kadyrovs, the guy was probably just from another muslim minority. I remember that it was on a bagpack.

Oh thanks for showing this appreciate it Was the Muslim one a Chechen? Really odd choice for a patch They probably hid them because some units are understandably not well liked and have done stuff to pows before I have a 155th seperate mechanized brigade patch from when it was a scorpion I had it before the change and before all the incidents they had I’ll try to get some pictures I’ll have to dig through my drawer of patches thanks for the extra info hope you’re having a nice day

EU needs to recognise Chechen Republic of Ichkeria is occupied, Chechens are not Russians. Give protection to Chechens supporting Chechen independence, welcome them and do not deport them. Unfortunately some countries welcome kadyrovites instead of this.
🇸🇪🇵🇱🇪🇪🇱🇻🇱🇹🇪🇺🇺🇦
