A variety of researchers have done fascinating work with CommentPress over the past 15 years. Take, for example, @mckenziewark who used an early instantiation to realise her seminal book GAMER THEORY 2.0 in online form. 8/20 futureofthebook.org/gamerthe…

Colleagues working in DH-ish space, what platforms / tools do you suggest for doing your writing with open peer review at the line / word level? The old Commentpress plug-in is a bit dated, though I see it now allows for selections and specific responses.

This can be done without fancy tools. For the last decade, I've used blogging software (CommentPress) and now often use Google Docs, which allow for threaded commenting. But more recently, I am leaning toward open reading journals, which is a more traditional approach.

Interested in publishing an #openaccess book through an open peer review process? You can do this through @humcommons sites by using the commentpress plug-in! Check out @K_Leonard_PhD's #OA book, which went through this process: spiritfilms.hcommons.org/ #musicstudies #filmstudies

It's much easier to do articles, which I've done many times. Smaller chunks of responses, esp in a CommentPress style CMS, helps, too! #OPReview

In CommentPress said webtexts would need to be in WordPress. With @hypothes_is they can be where they are or you want them to be.

Important step! Other tools are/were Django, CommentPress, SharedBook. . . . How will permalinks be established? Raises many interesting Qs.

This is big news. Congratulations @hypothes_is & @w3c Looking forward to seeing this implemented widely.
