INTERVENTION PROJECTS VITAL IN BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN GOVERNMENT AND THE PEOPLE – FIRST LADY OF NIGERIA
The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu(
@SenRemiTinubu), CON, has emphasized the importance of intervention and constituency projects as critical tools for bridging the gap between government and the people, describing them as tangible expressions of democratic governance and inclusive development.
The First Lady made this known at the unveiling of a compendium by the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs titled “Actualising President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda Through the Implementation of Zonal Intervention and Constituency Projects.”
The 560-page publication, written in nine chapters, is the first comprehensive public report documenting the implementation of intervention projects across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones and constituencies. The compendium aims to enhance transparency and accountability, serve as a valuable reference document and increase public awareness of projects executed in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Represented at the event by the Wife of the Vice President, Hajiya Nana Shettima(
@kujarima), the First Lady reflected on her years of service in the 7th, 8th and 9th National Assemblies, recalling the opportunities she had to contribute to legislation and constituency interventions that positively impacted communities.
She noted that these experiences reinforced her conviction in the importance of constituency-based projects as effective instruments for addressing local needs and improving the lives of citizens.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu commended the Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs for the initiative to document, consolidate and present the various intervention projects being implemented across communities nationwide. She stated that the compendium would provide a verifiable reference point for tracking impact, strengthening oversight, and promoting good governance.
The First Lady further observed that the publication reflects the Ministry’s commitment to advancing national development in line with the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and its determination to place Nigeria firmly on the path of sustainable growth and prosperity.
Speaking earlier, the Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Hon. Zephaniah Bitrus Jisalo, said the Ministry has deployed modern technology to enhance the monitoring and evaluation of projects across zones and constituencies. He noted that the initiative is geared towards ensuring effective implementation of projects in support of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by key stakeholders from government, development institutions, and other relevant sectors.
