The generated address is the address of a Curvy Portal. (you can read more about them here: docs.curvy.box/for-the-curio…) They are deterministically (CREATE2) derived addresses that hold a commitment to a new private note's ownerHash giving you access to the funds, and in the case of Curvy Swap, those funds are swapped immediately through LiFi upon shielding and withdrawn to an address of your choice. And when it comes to your first question, you're right on track with that assumption.
