Como muchos developers comencé mi carrera utilizando directamente scripts sql y procedimientos almacenados para comunicarnos con la base de datos en transacciones y consultas, pero con el tiempo llegó Entity Frameworks, que formalizó con sus herramientas las tareas de administración de la data en los sistemas informáticos. Tengo que aclarar que me encanta Entity Framework Core, para el manejo de las transacciones que involucran insertar, actualizar o eliminar, es excelente, pero para el manejo de consultas, realmente tengo que decir que siempre me dio dolores de cabeza, por que las herramientas de translation de Entity Framework para consultas simples es excelente con linq, pero cuando quieres hacer una consulta más compleja que involucra por ejemplo groups by sobre columnas calculadas, o por ejemplo tratar de hacer una paginacion sobre 4 o más entidades, allí es realmente donde EF comienza a sufrir al tratar de traducir en SQL Scripts la lógica que escribiste a nivel de objetos en los modelos EF. Por ese motivo, es que Dapper fue siempre siempre nuestro salvavidas, Dapper nos permite inyectar SQL Scripts directamente y también consumir procedimientos almacenados. Parece que los ingenieros de Microsoft también notaron estos problemas en EF y el gran mercado creciente que tiene Dapper, por lo que decidieron agregar esas funcionalidades de Dapper en las más recientes versiones de .NET Core. Por lo que ahora puedes utilizar Raw SQL Queries con EF para ejecutar transacciones en tu base de datos y también claro realizar consultas de todo tipo! ¿Te preocupan los ataques de inyección SQL? En el ejemplo de esta parte inferior pareciera que en el string , que representa el SQL Script, estamos inyectando dentro de este string el valor de una variable y este valor puede ser enviado directamente a la base de datos provocando un posible ataque de tipo “SQL Injection”: var startDate = new DateOnly(2023, 1, 1); dbContext.Database.ExecuteSql( $“UPDATE Orders SET status=5 WHERE CreatedOn >= {startDate} ” ); Pero no te preocupes este string no se ejecutará contra la base de datos como un “string interpolation”, por que el método ExecuteSql lo primero que hará es analizar el Sql Query y capturará los valores interpolados como “startDate” y los convertirá en parámetros Sql, evitando así el paso de expresiones o valores prohibidos, luego de esto recién enviará la consulta a la base de datos correspondiente.
