No shade, it’s their vocal choices. I just happen to have been on tour with them on xtina’s back to basics, I SAW A LOT- and for half your group to not even be notified a tour is coming back, sits bad in my spirit. I’m a girls group girl. And before you start up with this last round.. I contacted Dawn many times and I didn’t post the receipts because I have respect for her as an artist. And I did NOT agree to call us DANITY KANE. We never used that name when it wasn’t all five.. I was out voted by the other 2, when the disagreement occurred. Context: I’m an only child, and I enjoy groups of women thriving. I imagined mature behavior and presentation from all of us. So it’s just overall disappointment in a format that I truly believe in. 🤍
Why Did Judge Dismiss Dawn Richard's Explosive Lawsuit Against Sean 'Diddy' Combs?
A U.S. District Judge in New York has dismissed a lawsuit by a member of former girl group Danity Kane against Sean "Diddy" Combs
Earl sweatshirt’s Chali 2na, sideshow’s PUSSY RIOT!, Vince Staples’ DJ QUIK. Some honorable mentions but not quite are Zelooperz’ Bustin Jieber, Kenny Mason’s Bob Dylan Bus, Earl Sweatshirt’s Making The Band (Danity Kane), and Zelooperz’ JayJay-Z
—are flushed and panting with my belt around your pretty danity neck. MMhmmm.
Oh, what is this? Something at my ankle. I wonder what it is. I wonder if it could be one of my favourite things, a heel worn by my lady... keep on with that. It's rather nice. [c]
Breaking: Federal Judge Dismisses Dawn Richard's 18-Count Lawsuit Against Sean "Diddy" Combs
A federal judge in New York has dismissed all 18 claims brought by singer Dawn Richard against music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs in her 2024 civil lawsuit.
According to court records, U.S. District Judge dismissed two of Richard's copyright infringement claims, as well as a claim brought under New York City's Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Act, ruling that those allegations were improperly filed in federal court and should have been pursued in state court. While the copyright claims were dismissed, the gender-motivated violence claim was dismissed without prejudice, allowing Richard the opportunity to refile that specific claim in the appropriate court.
The remaining 15 causes of action were dismissed after the court determined they fell outside the applicable statute of limitations.
Richard initially filed suit against Combs in September 2024, alleging that she endured years of physical, verbal, and psychological abuse while working under the Bad Boy Records founder as a member of the successful R&B groups Danity Kane and Diddy-Dirty Money during the 2000s.
The ruling represents a significant legal victory for Combs in the ongoing wave of civil litigation he has faced in recent years. However, the dismissal without prejudice of the gender-motivated violence claim leaves open the possibility of future legal action in state court.
Neither Richard nor Combs immediately commented on the court's decision. #hiphopenquirer#Diddy
A judge has dismissed singer Dawn Richard's sexual abuse lawsuit against Diddy.
On Monday (June 15), a New York federal judge threw out all 18 counts of the singer's 2024 lawsuit. Two of her copyright claims and one in connection with New York City's Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Act were tossed because they were improperly filed in federal court instead of state court. The other 15 counts were dismissed for being past the statute of limitations. The Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Act count was dismissed without prejudice, meaning it can be refiled.
Richard sued Puff in September of 2024, claiming she suffered years of physical and verbal abuse as a member of Diddy's R&B groups Danity Kane and Diddy-Dirty Money in the 2000s.
XXL has reached out to Diddy's team for comment.
