Commissioner Kenwilliams Nyakomitah led the Kisumu regional team in high-impact engagements with NGAO and NPS officers across Rachuonyo South (Homa Bay), building on earlier forums in Kuria West and Suna West (Migori). The sessions convened DCCs, SCPCs, and DCIOs in focused, solutions-driven dialogue. The engagements marked a decisive shift from complaint-based oversight to collaborative problem-solving. Commanders candidly outlined operational challenges, including resource constraints and political pressure, while the Commissioner clarified IPOA’s mandate and defined actionable pathways for cooperation. Perceptions evolved notably, with officers increasingly viewing IPOA as a systems partner rather than a disciplinary enforcer. Deliberations centred on joint accountability, transparent reporting, and operational de-escalation. Key outcomes included commitments to stakeholder sensitisation, joint initiatives, and piloting after-action reviews for major incidents. The Commissioner also commended Kuria West for supporting officers’ recovery from alcoholism, reinforcing the importance of welfare-oriented leadership. He underscored that sustained inter-agency collaboration delivers shared gains for IPOA, NPS, NGAO and ultimately, the public. The engagement was supported by ADR Rashid Wekesa and PMO Anthony Biwott. ^GM
