Simply labeling something as a "parody" or "satire" does not automatically make it legal or protect you from a libel lawsuit. Libel (written defamation) occurs when false statements damage someone’s reputation. If a reasonable person could mistake the parody for a genuine, factual statement, it can still be considered actionable libel.
