One of the reason PMX is so hard to tame is because normally there is only 3 physics modes. (Kin, Dyn, Mixed). When trying to create a custom physics engine, a lot of issues with over tuning one part will cause explosive result of the other is due to the limited modes and custom tuning of authors at PMX editing phase.
Bullet 6DOF is able to manage all of these but the end result isn't all that smooth.
With loom, I had to resort to classify bodies and also chains using these information and then apply custom solvers at simulation stage.
ps: FTL/DFTL is not ideal for MMD hair 🥲

im sorry but going "we will be moving onto new projects and dont know when we will return to DFTL" is saying its abandoned for now. still disagree with people reviewing it just negatively i always will if they enjoyed the game.

After years of grinding, the two brother behind it needed some downtime to be brothers-first again.
Any potential new Monovoid project will be a different core team, with the brother-duo circling back to DFTL.
But of course that's hard to accept when the devs have no track record
