Good afternoon friends, we had storms throughout the South East last night all during the night and into the morning. I must confess, I slept late after feeling anxiety all night. I’ve lived through tornados. Anyway, I have just finished one of my Devotionals and something that was said during an audio message hit close to home. The speaker said “ How do we know there are Angels in your home or around you guarding you”. Well you won’t see them but you may very well feel them. He reminded me of times that I experienced “Near Misses”, where we escaped death or injury by just a few seconds or a few inches. I know I have experienced that. I’ve dodged cars running red lights, I have pulled off the road just in time to miss an 18 wheeler whose driver was not paying attention and probably there were other times like the time the steps were slick and I slid down on my back. It could have been so much worse. Have you ever had the little hairs on your arm or back of your neck stand up for no apparent reason? I have and I don’t believe it was a ghost either. God tells us Angels are all around us. In Dr. Billy Graham’s book “Angels, Angels, Angels” he says the same thing, God designated an Angel for each one of us. Psalms 91:11, Luke 4:10, Psalms 34:7, Matthew 18:10, Hebrews 1:14, Exodus 23:20 are a few verses about Angels protecting us. You can also download Dr. Grahams books on audio book apps or go to
YouTube.com and look for Billy Graham sermons on Angels. These are very interesting as are his books. The other thing he mentioned is something we have all heard about from one source or another. It’s Decluttering our lives, making room for good energy, like the energy of Angels. This motivated me, so I got up and cleared out a couple of areas. The thing is, if you work at it one step at a time, 10 min a day even, that will eventually make a huge difference. I don’t know about you but I accumulate plastic storage containers. Our grocery store has a huge bin of these tightly sealed containers for $1.00 each. I have finally stopped picking one out of that bin every time I go grocery shopping. It’s good to pick out half a dozen in different sizes and donate the others. I purchased can organizers for my pantry because I kept buying the same things over and over. Now I can clearly see what I have and now I don’t over buy. There are even freezer organizers too. I suggest water proof markers that are safe for food and water proof labels to mark the date of purchase on them in large enough print to easily see, to avoid the same multiples that will only get freezer burn over time if not eaten right away. You can find inexpensive organizers at Dollar Tree, Dollar General or yard sales even. Since I decluttered I have felt a huge weight off my shoulders and mind. Less really is more. Start with one room at a time, one area at a time, don’t jump from area to area. Concentrate on the one area until you’re happy with the results. Do we really need a dozen coats? Do we really need 500 pairs of shoes? My answer is NO WAY! I have a white pair of tennis shoes, my favorite black walking shoes or everyday pair. I have four pairs of sandals in White, black, beige and brown. I got rid of all of my extra colors. I have two pair of sparkly sandals in silver and rose gold. I have my dressy pumps in 4 of the neutral colors too. That’s paring down from around 100 pairs to around 30, including boots. I have rings for scarves and hang them as well as a shelf for purses. I used to love the new Spring colors but now I have purses paired down to a few crossbody bags to a couple small “Church bags”, big enough for my Bible, tissues, peppermint, a small water bottle and a small pad and pen and my wallet. I usually always have a small travel hair brush and a scrunchy as well as wet ones in a small pack for potential grand child messes. That’s it!
