Likely going to withdraw from my Masters, or at least defer for one or two Trimesters.
I feel:
1) Childhood/young adulthood perfectionism hangups mean I dedicate way too much time and mental energy on my assessments relative to other life responsibilities at my age.
2) In the field of tech, there is endless free teaching & learning resources online.
3) And dramatically, I think traditional tertiary education in software engineering and information technology is moving too slowly (and now appears dated) or is at least too theoretical (and not practical enough), that itโs likely better to learn with more dynamic course structures and micro credentials found at places like Coursera, DeepLearningAI, Open CV University, etc.
I honestly feel, that at my mid-life age in particular, I can craft a customised learning plan that will better suit my career, tech and business goals โฆeven if it shuts doors on some spaces reserved for higher degrees and academia.
In conclusion, the only permanent is impermanence, so maybe Iโll change my mind after a semester or two. But for now, Iโm excited about dedicating more to my own self-directed learning and Genvice.
