My homie has a theory, you share talent among your name sakes. You cannot be named Dimitar Berbatov, Zinedine Zidane, Kaka, Vivaldi and still be mediocre in the game.
Brazil became finished the moment they stopped producing players with proper Brazilian football names. I grew up watching Bebeto, Romário, Rivaldo, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Robinho… Now I’m seeing Gabriel Magalhães, Ibáñez, Martinelli and Santos. The names alone don’t inspire fear. This is not Brazil!!!!!

They already had Dimitar Berbatov on so he might continue, but they have Roberto Di Matteo, Bacary Sagna, Asamoah Gyan, Salomon Kalou and Fulham’s Alex Iwobi amongst others so not a bad roster overall.

It's refreshing listening to John Terry and Dimitar Berbatov - both analysis on the #FIFAWC matches are insightful. Huge credit to SuperSport's management for securing them. Requires planning, investment and strong connection.

🚨Dimitar Berbatov on why the Vinícius Júnior and Raphinha partnership isn’t working for Brazil after the 1-1 draw against Morocco at the 2026 FIFA World Cup: 🗣️ “Carlo Ancelotti has some serious decisions to make because that performance was nowhere near the standard expected from Brazil. When you look at the players available, a 1-1 draw where Brazil struggled to impose themselves raises a lot of questions. For me, the Vinícius Júnior and Raphinha combination is not giving Brazil the balance they need. Both players want freedom, both want to attack, and sometimes the team loses structure because of it. Ancelotti needs to take different steps. Those performances are a shame to his name and the football identity he has built throughout his career. Brazil looked disconnected. The midfield wasn’t protecting the attack and the attack wasn’t helping the midfield. If I were him, I would bring in Endrick. I would bring in Matheus Cunha. Cunha gives you intensity, pressing and movement. He makes life easier for the players around him. I would also look at Ederson in midfield because Brazil desperately need players who can recover possession, track runners and control transitions. You cannot leave Vinícius isolated and expect him to carry the attack every game. Give him balance. Give him runners around him. Give him players who can win the ball back and create space for him to attack. Brazil have the talent to win this World Cup. But talent alone is not enough. The best teams have structure, discipline and balance. Right now, Brazil have brilliant individuals, but they don’t look like a complete team. Ancelotti must get the next selection right because the World Cup does not wait for anyone.” {@SkyNews }

Dimitar Berbatov on Ayyoub Bouaddi’s performance in the match against Brazil national football team: 🗣️ “I have to say, what I watched from Bouaddi against Brazil was something special. Not because he tried to do everything, but because he made everything look calm in a game that was completely chaotic. Brazil usually try to overwhelm young midfielders with pressure, but he didn’t panic. He didn’t rush. He didn’t hide. He actually played like the game belonged to him in certain moments. What stood out most was his decision making. Against a team like Brazil, many young players try to impress too much and end up losing the ball. He did the opposite simple passes, smart positioning, and perfect timing. But let’s be honest, Brazil are Brazil. If you give them even a small gap, they will punish you. There were moments where Bouaddi was excellent, but also moments where the experience of Brazil showed why they are still dangerous at any time. That’s what makes his performance interesting. It wasn’t perfect, but it was mature beyond his age. You don’t see many players that young keeping their composure in that kind of match. If he continues like this, performances like this against top teams will not be a surprise anymore they will become normal. And when that happens, people will stop talking about his potential and start talking about his level.”
