Not a Discworld superfan, tho I enjoyed the games and early books (I know exactly when I stopped: 1999, just before The Fifth Elephant). Thought about finishing them and—uh, what happened to the covers? The originals sold the product, the new ones feel like generic YA

You should try reading Discworld for a pastiche that doesn't take itself too seriously until it does closer to the end of the second act of every book and it's glorious to witness every time.

i do agree with other ppl and start with what you enjoy and are interested in. if you like sci-fi fantasy, terry prachett is one i always recommend. discworld is phenomenal giovanni’s room is one that haunts me in the best way possible AND: do android’s dream of electric sheep!!
