Zach Cregger's advice on "elfing" is really good, too.
He basically imagines that he gives a story idea to a "bad elf" to write. Then, writing as the elf, he writes a story as terribly as possible. Intentionally bad. Then he can go in and fix it after it's done. That way he won't agonize over everything he writes while he's writing it. I'm going to try it.
I really do actually like a lot of what Zach Cregger is talking about here. Letting yourself be bad, write without thinking, turn off the inner critic. Itโs great stuff. Gonna check out that Lynch book too.
