What was on the agenda ⤵️ 1️⃣ Hydrogen 💧♻️ potential, transformation options (pipeline, LNG terminal future usage, shipping, etc.) and the need to maximize efficiency with large scale 🇹🇷 Turkish solar and wind support/capacity. 2️⃣ Wind sector needs more 🇪🇺🇹🇷 investment and coordination in order to stay fully competitive worldwide. 3️⃣ The 🇪🇺🇹🇷 #CustomsUnion reform necessitates careful attention in areas of energy/supply-chains, but also across other trade agreements of 🇪🇺 #EU (e.g. EPCAs). 4️⃣ The 🇪🇺 #EU's and IFI's support across the #SouthCaucasus and #CentralAsia (amongst other regions) is very helpful for renewable growth ♻️, including #GlobalGatewayInitiative 🇪🇺🌐💶and @ebrd and @eib financing. Additional industry coordination at 🇪🇺🇹🇷 #EU-Turkish level is needed for 3rd country/regional investments. 5️⃣ Mapping 📊📈 needs continue to exist on key areas, which are necessary for optimal supply chain and energy investments, including research on vocational training needs, existing and complementary projects, funding availability, policy coordination options, risk assessments and supply chain hub potential @ENC_Europe. *Invited guests were high level energy representatives and CEOs from #Germany 🇩🇪🇪🇺 & #Turkiye 🇹🇷, as well as parliamentarians/experts/policy-makers. 3️⃣ #CentralAsia, however, isn't a "problem free business partner" for the #EU 🇪🇺 nor #Turkiye 🇹🇷. A functioning 🇪🇺 Global Gateway East ("#MiddleCorridor") depends on conditions: Firstly, an improved 🇪🇺🇹🇷 #EU #Turkiye relationship is key in order to properly coordinate supply chains into #CentralAsia. The 🇪🇺🇹🇷 Customs Union should be updated and technically better integrated to fit supply chain expansions into Central Asia and new EPCAs with #Kazakhstan 🇰🇿 and #Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 as well as agreements with #Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬, #Tajikistan 🇹🇯 and #Turkmenistan 🇹🇲. Secondly, the #EU 🇪🇺 should provide more economic firepower and security-oriented measures to ease investors and attract more funds to the region. Business investments are risk averse by nature and depend on stability and government guarantees. This is already happening with #EU 🇪🇺 and Member State (🇫🇷🇩🇪) involvement in #CentralAsia, but more is needed especially in terms of countering disinformation, #Russian aggressiveness, critical infrastructure security, digital/satellites, cyber support, border support, anti-radicalisation measures, information satefy/GDPR/DSA, security sector/police reform and conflict resolution mechanisms. Thirdly, a peace agreement between  🇦🇲🇦🇿 #Azerbaijan-#Armenia is mandatory with supply-chain hub guarantees for the South #Caucasus. Again, EU-Turkiye 🇪🇺🇹🇷 cooperation is needed. [END].
