Got it — no explanation. Thought as much.
There is no such thing as spam. You don't understand Bitcoin. Do you think miners are upset about ledger entries being paid for? For them, that is work. It is business. — "Great, 'spam'? More of that, please."
The only reason you have an issue with the idea of 'blockchain spam' is because your crippled, decrepit network has been kidnapped, gagged, and bound to a boat anchor, with its hands tied behind its back.
5 transactions a second? Blockstream might as well scream: "Absolutely no transactions allowed! Ever!" 😠
If you were writing into a Ledger, line by line, letter by letter — and you are paid as such, not by your hourly rate, but by the letter — would you not want to speed up your writing ability? Would you not wish to be capable of writing with both hands simultaneously? ✍️
Or, would you put your arm in a cast, strap your arm to your forehead, and also have someone blindfold you, essentially slowing you down?
The reason your fees spike is because the ledger 'writer' is too busy and can no longer promise all submitted ledger entry requests — unless you are willing to pay more.
As a result, Epstream decided to create "Lightning" as a 'solution' to this 'problem'. Only yet, the transactions are not on the base layer. They are no longer deemed peer to peer. They are not honest.
