Next Evolution: The Close Helmet (16th century CE) After the Armet and Sallet, Renaissance armorers perfected the Close Helmet — a fully enclosed, highly sophisticated design that became the pinnacle of tournament and heavy cavalry head protection. [Image 1: Classic Close Helmet with its integrated visor, bevor, and neck gorget.] Key Innovations Fully enclosing helmet with a hinged visor that lifted for visibility and a locking mechanism for security. Smooth, rounded skull with excellent deflection and often paired with a gorget for seamless neck protection. Elaborate decorative work (gilding, etching, embossing) for elite knights and tournaments. [Image 2: Ornate example with intricate gold detailing and ventilation patterns.] [Image 3: Another stunning piece showcasing the detailed engravings and craftsmanship.] Strengths Maximum protection against lances, swords, and early firearms while maintaining better breathability and vision options than the old Great Helm. It represented the height of plate armor technology. Trade-offs Still heavy and somewhat restrictive in prolonged melee or hot conditions. More expensive and complex to produce, so mainly for wealthy warriors or tournament use. From Sumerian metal caps → Greek/Roman → flawed Great Helm → Bascinet → Sallet → Armet → this refined Close Helmet, we see centuries of iterative improvement. These 16th-century masterpieces are true functional art. Which helmet in the series is your favorite so far? Love the ornate Renaissance style, or do you prefer the simpler ancient ones? Mustafa III’s Golden Ceremonial Armou Sultan Mustafa III (reigned 1757–1774) owned one of the most spectacular pieces in the Topkapı Palace Armoury: a gold‑plated ceremonial armour set. This armour was not meant for battle — it was created for state ceremonies, military parades, and symbolic imperial display. By the mid‑18th century, Ottoman sultans no longer fought on the battlefield themselves. However, the image of the sultan as the “warrior‑ruler” (gazi padişah) was still extremely important. So the palace commissioned luxurious, gold‑decorated armour to: -show imperial wealth -project military authority -impress foreign ambassadors -maintain the traditional image of the warrior‑sultan Mustafa III’s armour is one of the finest examples of this tradition. It is richly decorated with: -Ottoman floral motifs -tughra of Sultan Mustafa III -fine gold filigree and embossing

PLATE V - brass plate and its accompanying work on paper, a blind embossing The blind embossing registers the presence of absence, as these orchid forms never existed. These are traces of silhouetted forms trained on native Australian orchids currently stored at the NSW herbarium Five brass plates and their sister works on paper will be available (and affordable) at @verse_works soon Read more here: mia-forrest.com/orchids

fineartamerica.com/featured/… " Turquoise Reverie at Dusk " By Artist Michael Rucker Copyright ©️ Description Turquoise Reverie at Dusk: This breathtaking digital artwork captures a moment of pure serenity where twilight meets opulent beauty. In the foreground, a grand turquoise porcelain vase, richly adorned with intricate gold filigree and fan-like patterns, overflows with voluminous peonies in mesmerizing shades of turquoise, cyan, and deep violet-purple. Their golden centers shimmer as if kissed by the last rays of sunset. Arranged around this floral centerpiece is a harmonious collection of luminous vessels: tall, glowing lanterns with delicate floral etchings that radiate warm golden light from within, a sleek elongated bottle with subtle gold flecks, a smaller rounded orb lantern, and elegant candle holders flickering softly. Stacks of antique teal-bound books with ornate gold embossing add intellectual depth and texture to the composition. To the right, a graceful flowering branch heavy with delicate turquoise blossoms reaches toward the viewer, perfectly framing the tranquil seascape visible through tall windows with ornate gold lattice screens. Distant sailboats drift peacefully on calm waters beneath a gradient sky transitioning from warm sunset orange to deep indigo.Floating golden particles and soft bokeh effects drift through the air like captured starlight, enhancing the magical, meditative atmosphere. Every object features exquisite gold detailing on rims and motifs, creating a luxurious interplay between cool turquoise and purple tones with warm, glowing illumination. The artists signature, Michael Rucker, graces the lower right corner. This piece masterfully blends East Asian-inspired aesthetics with contemporary digital artistry, evoking feelings of tranquility, elegance, and the gentle passage from day into night. A true visual poem of light, color, and stillness.

Prompt Share: SPIRAL OF NATIONS (MetLife Ascension Ceremony) Creative Directions: world‑stage fashion, national pride, ceremonial geometry, stadium mythology, elemental choreography, trophy‑presentation epic Prompt: A cinematic overhead shot inside MetLife Stadium during the World Cup Trophy Presentation ceremony. Two representatives from every participating nation stand on a multi‑tiered circular platform at midfield, forming a perfect ascending spiral of nations around the World Cup Trophy. Each pair wears ultra‑high‑fashion national‑color long coats with geometric color‑blocking, sculpted silhouettes, crest embossing, and metallic trims that shimmer under stadium lights. The spiral formation creates a living mandala: inner tiers tight and ceremonial, outer tiers broad and dramatic. National colors flow in a continuous gradient, forming a global tapestry. A powerful gust of wind sweeps across the summit, lifting the long coats into sculptural arcs and sending national‑color scarf‑belts trailing behind like ceremonial ribbons. Confetti spirals upward, following the wind’s rotation. At the center of the spiral, the World Cup Trophy glows with a radiant golden aura, acting as the nucleus of the formation. Stadium lights perform a synchronized circular sweep, illuminating each national pair in sequence before culminating in a golden flare on the trophy pedestal. From the crane’s apex, the entire formation becomes a breathtaking geometric mandala: coats suspended mid‑flare, scarves forming curved lines around the trophy, confetti drifting upward like celestial dust, and the stadium bowl plus New York skyline framing the moment. Epic, mythic, world‑uniting, editorial, ceremonial, social‑ready. Style tags: spiral formation, world cup ceremony, national pride couture, stadium cinematic, editorial lighting, trophy mythology, global procession, wind choreography, mandala overhead shot Negative prompt: distortion, flicker, shaky camera, clutter, uncanny faces, incorrect anatomy, random props, low detail, warped geometry @jimsarny1a @jmvandrade17 @johnnyrb86 @joja_peaches @kadriyegms11 @kawaii_ai_zoo @kaymakcam80755 @keepcalmandMAGA @keepgoingAnnie @kellser64

Tomorrow is payday, but also the day when holiday pay comes, which is half a month's pay. I don't care to travel, and I don't have places to go, so I'll save most of it, but then I look at random things like a ~250€ plastic card embossing machine.

Thank you. One last thing, emerald green covered books with gold embossing from 1830~1880 may contain arsenic. Same with emerald green wallpaper and dresses. They used arsenic in the dye.
