Very bum, he was clearly affected. And then to make up for his diminished explosiveness he pressed and made (very big) mistakes. I think SA has to roll with him next year for salary reasons, but also because the potential is there.

muscle type and fibre matter too. indians are slow twitch, low bone density, bad cardiovascular system and lack explosiveness

Concern was he just never looked fast. He was an above the rim player in Sacramento. Had a 60 point game. Is it injuries? something else? If he can regain explosiveness he’s valuable. Getting him healthy and showing he’s still got it would raise his value if Spurs did move on.

I wasn't even sure what to say when I saw the news yesterday. @AldonSmith is gone. Thirty-six years old. As Raiders fans, we spend so much time arguing over depth charts, draft picks, and what happened on Sundays that we sometimes forget the names on the backs of those jerseys belong to real people. Aldon wasn't perfect. None of us are. But he was one of the most naturally gifted players to ever rush a quarterback. He fought battles that many of us watched from a distance and couldn't possibly understand. Through all of it, there were people who never stopped hoping he'd find peace, happiness, and another chance to write a different ending to his story. Yesterday, that hope turned into heartbreak. For some fans, he'll be remembered for the explosiveness, the talent, and the way he could completely change a game. For others, he'll be remembered as a reminder that you never truly know what someone is carrying behind closed doors. Either way, this isn't a day for criticism or debate. It's a day to remember that life is fragile. Tell the people you love that you love them. Check on the friend you haven't talked to in a while. Give a little more grace than you normally would. Because tomorrow isn't promised to any of us. Rest in Raiders Paradise, Aldon Smith. Thank you for wearing the Silver and Black. Once a Raider, always a Raider. ☠️🕊️ 📺 Raider Nation, thank you for always showing that this community is about more than football. If you're part of the @Raiders Unleashed family, hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight. youtube.com/@raidersunleashe… #RaiderNation #AldonSmith #RestInRaidersParadise #OnceARaiderAlwaysARaider #RaidersUnleashed #JustWinBaby

Muscle-ups aren't about brute strength. They're about timing.
They're about explosiveness.
They're about mastering the transition.

NHL players are the best of the big 4 sports. Water Polo or gymnasts are the biggest athletic freaks on the planet, though. The body control, strength, physicality, toughness, & explosiveness are unmatched.
Bo Jackson says MLB players are the best athletes in all of sports “I'd have to say baseball because we play 162 games” “Could you play 162 games? On days off you're traveling to the next town. Football, some couldn't do it three weeks in a row” “Football, it's intense and it's for three hours. Baseball, you play nine innings, every night, sometimes two games, double headers” “If your stadium isn't a dome and you get rain, you don't get home till after midnight. Get up the next day, go back and do the same thing”

My 10 most important Packers for the 2026 season! 🧀 Cracking the top 5… Christian Watson Few players on the Packers roster can change a game the way Christian Watson can. At 6’4” with elite speed, Watson brings a rare combination of size and explosiveness that forces defenses to account for him on every snap. Whether it’s stretching the field vertically, taking a short pass the distance, or drawing extra safety attention, his presence alone changes how defenses line up against Green Bay. The biggest challenge throughout his career has been availability. Watson has missed 20 games during his NFL career, including the first 9 games of last season while recovering from a torn ACL. When he’s on the field, he’s consistently shown the ability to be one of the most dangerous playmakers in the offense, but injuries have prevented him from fully showcasing his ceiling over an entire season. His PFF grades show the potential he’s always had: 77.1 in Year 1, 68.2 in Year 2, 70.0 in Year 3, and 82.7 in Year 4. The talent has never been the question. When healthy, Watson has consistently shown he can be one of the most explosive and impactful receivers in the league. What’s even more impressive is that Watson posted his 2025 production while still working his way back from a torn ACL. Despite not being fully removed from the injury, he still produced at a high level and showed the same explosiveness that makes him such a dangerous weapon. Over a 17-game pace, Watson was on track for 60 receptions, 1,039 receiving yards, and 10 touchdowns on 94 targets while averaging an impressive 17.5 yards per catch. Those are legitimate WR1 numbers, especially considering he was still regaining confidence and explosiveness following a major knee injury. If that’s what Watson looks like while recovering from an ACL tear, it’s easy to understand why the Packers are so excited about what a fully healthy version could look like in 2026. What makes Watson so important isn’t just the production he provides, it’s the opportunities he creates for everyone else. Defenses have to respect his speed, which opens up space underneath for players like Tucker Kraft, Jayden Reed, and Josh Jacobs. There’s a reason Green Bay invested heavily in helping Watson stay healthy. When he’s available, he gives the offense something that simply can’t be replicated elsewhere on the roster. If Watson can finally put together a healthy season, the ceiling for both him and the Packers offense rises dramatically. He has all the tools to develop into one of the league’s premier deep threats and a true WR1-caliber weapon. For Jordan Love, having a healthy Christian Watson isn’t just a luxury, it’s one of the biggest factors in determining how explosive this offense can be in 2026! How many yards will Christian Watson have this season ?!? 🧀 👀

They only need to practice the Snatch and Clean and Jerk explosively. Explosiveness is skill specific.

🏀 Your Habits Speak Louder Than Your Talent Coaches don’t just watch where the ball goes—they watch how you move when you think no one is looking. The differences between earning a spot on the bench and earning a coach’s absolute trust often come down to inches, effort, and execution. ❌ What Loses a Coach's Trust: Casual approach: Going through the motions at 50% speed. Bad footwork & posture: Standing tall while dribbling, weak gathers, and lack of explosiveness. Lazy finishes: Flipping the ball up casually without game-intensity focus. ✅ What Gains a Coach's Trust: Game-speed execution: Simulating real game intensity in every solo workout. Sharp habits: Low, aggressive stances, violent rips, and crisp footwork. Playing with intent: Exploding to the rim and tracking the ball through the net. 💡 You don't magically switch on "game-speed" when the lights come on. Your habits in an empty gym are exactly what will show up under pressure. #BasketballTraining #PGCOnline #CoachesTrust #PlayerDevelopment #BasketballHabits #HardWork #PointGuardCollege

1. Explosiveness isn't a single trait and is at least partially trainable - athletic ppl with no sprinting experience make large gains through training. 2. IQ is much less heritable than height and its correlation with chess talent once you cross the threshold is disputed. Also, is chess a sport? Basketball is literally "either you got tall enough genes or you didn't." A low single digit % of all 7 foot tall men in the U.S. play in the NBA (there are only like 200). That is the most insane genetic determinism possible.

Its hard to determine as there are risks with both. Kingston Flemmings is more explosive and has more burst. But KF also weighs over 30 pounds less. If their weight stays the same the argument is that Burries is more NBA ready And their could be concern(rightly or wrongly) if KF can adjust to the league physicality at that weight. If he gains significant weight how does that affect his explosiveness? KF already has a height and wingspan disadvantage compared to Burries. I like KF and Burries its hard to get a good read.

In a contest of speed and outrageous reflexes, Anura's explosiveness remained similar to his own. . . He had been priming his arrogance, his ignorance, and his overall predator instincts to reach this specific instance where if he were grabbed, Anura had no answer.

6’5 | ‘28 | Myles Hayes impacts the game in a variety of ways with his explosiveness and ability to score from all three levels. The long guard did a good job of getting to his spots and knocking down shots while making the game look easy. His quick twitch allows him to get downhill at will, where he can finish above the rim. Today, I thought he also did a solid job of getting paint touches and finding teammates for easy buckets. Special guard in the 2028 class. @hoopseen @GBCALive @hooraymyles
