EXCITING UPDATE ✊🏾 Our team, including our Global Director, @opegoogle, and Cameroun Country Director, Caralle Kaze has just returned from the Feminist Network for Gender Transformative Education (#FemNet4GTE) 2025 Africa Regional Action Workshop held in Nairobi, Kenya. This two-day event brought together changemakers from across Africa to co-create solutions that advance gender equality in and through education. Together, they took part in powerful dialogues, shared many knowledge products, which helped greatly in shaping continental strategies that put girls and young women at the centre of #educationjustice. In the coming days, we are integrating these insights into our approach to educational project designs to ensure that these global conversations continue to have a greater and transformative impact within our communities. Recall that we recently trained 50 class teachers across schools in Osun state on #OnlineSafety, validating our continuous and relentless commitment to #localaction. It was ample time for us to equip educators with digital skills to harness technology for inclusive learning. The lessons from Nairobi will now continue to guide our future projects and collaborations, strengthening the bridge between regional advocacy and local action. The #FemNet4GTE 2025 workshop may have come and gone, but for us, it marks the start of new commitments, deeper collaboration, and innovative solutions for education justice across Africa. #BBYDIAILiteracy #DoersOfBBYDI #GlobalEducation #Malalafund @Malala

We are excited to share that our Global Director, @opegoogle together with our Country Director in Cameroon, Ms. Carelle Kazelle are presently in Nairobi, Kenya, for the Feminist Network for Gender Transformative Education (#FemNet4GTE) 2025 Africa Regional Action Workshop, an impactful two-day gathering bringing together 50 changemakers from across the continent to advance Gender Transformative Education. This workshop is part of FemNet4GTE’s 2025 initiative in producing evidence-based tools, policy recommendations, curriculum action plans, and stakeholder commitments to scale gender-transformative education across national, regional, and global levels. The two-day workshop collaborated with partners such as, @UNGEI (United Nations Girls’ Education Initiative), @UNICEF, @unwomenafrica, @UNAIDS, @UNESCO South African Department of Basic Education, among others to bring together youth leaders, civil society, policymakers, and feminist activists to co-create transformative solutions for gender equality in and through education. At the workshop, @opegoogle will present key insights from two of our knowledge products: a fact sheet on Contemporary Issues in Girl-Child Education in Kwara State and findings from the Nigeria Education Finance Observatory. These resources are already driving critical conversations on education financing, technology-enabled solutions, and youth access to learning opportunities. While Kazelle will highlight how we are leveraging artwork and storytelling to align with and advance the goals of Gender Transformative Education. At @BrainBuilders01, we believe education is not just a right, it is a tool of reparation, empowerment, and justice. By engaging in these regional dialogues, we stand committed to building collective action, amplifying youth voices, and shaping policies that break barriers for girls, young women, and marginalised communities.
