𝐑𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 ✅Rwanda received the Award for Excellence in Local Leadership during the 6th edition of the International Forum on Participatory Democracy in Africa (FIDEPA) held in Dakar, Senegal. ✅The forum was organized in partnership with the International Observatory for Participatory Democracy in Africa (IOPD Africa) and the Union of Local Elected Officials of Senegal. ✅As confirmed by the Ministry of Local Government (MINALOC), the award recognized Rwanda’s strong reforms in digitizing local service delivery and its continued commitment to citizen-centered governance. ✅The award was received on behalf of the Ministry of Local Government, by Rwanda’s envoy to Senegal, Amb. Festus Bizimana. ✅Over the past 31 years, Rwanda has implemented various programs aimed at empowering citizens. ✅This has led to enhanced inclusive participation in governance, with over 80% of citizens now playing a role in solving problems. This figure has risen from 65.63% in 2018. ✅Besides, decentralization of leadership in Rwanda began in 2000, strengthening local government structures and improving their performance and service delivery. ✅This is reinforced by the district advisory councils that oversee the implementation of planned activities, thus making citizens’ participation more evident. en.igihe.com/news/article/rw…

Le 6 novembre 2025, le Rwanda a eu l’honneur de recevoir le Prix d’Excellence pour le Leadership Local lors de la cérémonie de clôture de la 6ᵉ édition du Forum International sur la Démocratie Participative en Afrique (FIDEPA), qui s’est tenue pendant trois jours à Dakar, au Sénégal. Le prix a été remis à M. Festus Bizimana, Ambassadeur du Rwanda au Sénégal, par l’Honorable Balla Moussa Fofana, Ministre sénégalais de l’Urbanisme, des Collectivités Territoriales et du Développement Régional. Cette distinction vient reconnaître les efforts continus du Rwanda en matière de la numérisation des services publics et pour son engagement exemplaire à mettre les citoyens au centre de toutes ses politiques et initiatives de gouvernance. --- On 6th November 2025, Rwanda had the honour of receiving the Award of Excellence for Local Leadership at the closing ceremony of the 6th edition of the International Forum on Participatory Democracy in Africa (FIDEPA), held over three days in Dakar, Senegal. The award was presented to Rwanda’s Envoy to Senegal, Mr. Festus Bizimana, by Senegal’s Minister of Urban Planning, Local Authorities, and Regional Development Hon. Balla Moussa Fofana. Rwanda was recognized for its efforts in digitizing public services and for its commitment to placing citizens at the centre of all governance initiatives.

📌Lancement de la 6em edition du Forum International de la Démocratie Participative en Afrique (FIDEPA) 2025.

Le Président de l’Assemblée nationale, Monsieur El Malick Ndiaye, a reçu en audience, ce jeudi 9 octobre, une délégation du Forum international de la démocratie participative en Afrique (FIDEPA), en prélude à la 6ᵉ édition dudit forum prévue du 4 au 6 novembre prochain à Dakar, sous le thème : « De la résilience à la souveraineté : rôles des villes, des territoires et des acteurs ». Le Président s’est réjoui de cette rencontre avec des élus locaux, qui offre un cadre d’échanges autour des enjeux de gouvernance et de développement territorial. Selon lui, la thématique retenue s’inscrit parfaitement dans la vision du gouvernement du Sénégal, notamment à travers l’Agenda 2050 de transformation nationale. Il a, à cette occasion, réitéré la disponibilité de l’Assemblée nationale à accompagner les organisateurs pour la réussite de ce grand rendez-vous continental. #ansen #senegal #gouvernanceterritoriale
