By popular request, Year 5 @CCJacademy have rediscovered firelighting in Forest School – with a twist.
Their challenge: to light the smallest possible piece of cotton wool. It took plenty of resilience, perseverance and patience, but the children rose to the challenge.
Jesus doesn't "come from a book" but is God incarnate in the flesh and active in spirit in all of existence. More, this firelighting will probably be followed by 1 to 3 hours of reading and preaching from the book in question.
5J had a brilliant time at Forest School yesterday. We worked as a team to complete challenges, used wood whittling skills to create an imaginary tool, and practised our firelighting skills 🔥⭐️😊👏

Dickens turned firelighting into emotion-on-stage.
In A Christmas Carol, Scrooge’s fire is small and mean, mirroring his emotional coldness.
When warmth finally enters his life, the fire grows.
🔥 Year 3 @CCJacademy had an incredible time at Forest School!
Lots of excitement as we learned the new skill of firelighting. The children followed each step brilliantly and stayed super safe. So proud of their focus and teamwork! 🌲✨
