I use both - ellipsus mainly for fanfic and FirstDraftPro for my original long form work.

If you want an app that has more features than ellipsus for outlining and keeping track of multiple plot lines then i also recommend the paid version of FirstDraftPro. They initially had non-generative AI features but have removed it based on feedback.

As a writer all news involving AI seems to be so depressing these days, so I thought I'd shine a light on something positive - the writing app @firstdraftpro removed their AI component. It was not generative AI, and it was opt-in, but still, it was AI and it made me wary.

The stricter the structure, the more creative freedom you have. Each episode runs TWO parallel stories: • A-story (Main plot) • B-story (Subplot) Both follow the same circle (see below from FirstDraftPro). But there's a hidden layer most viewers miss:

Always have reminders for you to write wherever you spend most of your time. The first tabs that open up in my browser show my to-do list task to write. I keep pencils and journals in all of my bags. I also tend to bring my @getfreewrite Traveler with me, if I have room for it.

THIS. IS. IT. This feeling is why building the collaboration features of @firstdraftpro was so important to us. Storytelling magic is collaborative magic. Many loving hands make a book. 💛
I love when I’m giving feedback and the author’s response is “omg, YES! And what if I do xyz?” and then we just go back and forth in excitement and ideas of how to make their story stronger. Such an amazing feeling✨
