i finally had time to test out @mastra agent signals. the core idea: a signal makes a running agent loop addressable. you can push context into an agent while it's still working, without restarting it, and without having been the one who started the conversation. that one change turns a one-shot agent into something you can steer, share, and wake up. a few ways it shows up: you can subscribe to one live agent thread from multiple clients and add messages mid-run, so several people can watch and steer the same agent at once. a processor can watch the loop and inject context the exact moment it matters. the agent touches a file under a folder with its own AGENTS.md, that file loads itself into context. it drifts near maxSteps, it gets nudged to wrap up. the agent can react to the outside world. a github review lands or CI fails, and a delivery policy decides by priority whether to wake the agent, fold it into the active loop, batch it, or leave it in an inbox it checks later. and state that changes a lot (memory, task status, browser state) gets delivered as cache-friendly snapshots and deltas instead of rewriting the system prompt and busting the prompt cache on every edit. ive been running Mastra in prod for about a year, mostly agents inside client dashboards. the messages primitive is the one i needed: two people in the same org hitting one shared agent used to spawn competing loops on the same thread, and neither of them knew. now they subscribe to one loop, see each other's messages, and steer it together. if you run agents that live longer than a single request, this is the layer you've probably been hand-rolling with queues and cron pokes.

THE FORGOTTEN DRAFTS FOLDER (THE FIX) How to fix it: Go to Gmail on your computer or your phone app. Look at the left sidebar and click on "Drafts." You will likely see hundreds of half written emails from years ago. Many of them will have large attachments locked inside them. Click the "Select All" box at the top and hit the delete button. She cleared out 85 old drafts and recovered another 800MB of completely wasted space.

THE FORGOTTEN DRAFTS FOLDER (THE PROBLEM) Situation: She frequently started writing emails on her phone, attached a picture or a document to send to a friend, and then got distracted before hitting send. The Problem: Gmail is incredibly aggressive about saving your work. If you attach a massive file to an email and close the window, that file lives inside your Drafts folder permanently. It is actively eating your data quota, and you never even actually sent the file to anyone.

ORPHANED DRIVE FILES (THE PROBLEM) Situation: Someone shared a massive 2GB video project folder with her back in 2021. She did not create it, but it was absolutely destroying her available space today. The Problem: If you save copies of shared files to your own drive, or if the original owner eventually deletes their account, the data weight transfers entirely to you. These large unorganized files slip through the cracks and you completely forget you even have access to them.

Check your Steam folder > steamapps > content and the build you just downloaded should be there. Replace the contents in the current folder with the one you just downloaded. Ideally, you would delete the old folder as well and reinstall Community Edition.
