My understanding is there are two types of vsync though - driver provided (Nvidia panel) and in-game (settings page). The driver one is optimized for VRR / gsync and doesnt harm input lag, but the in-game setting does (which is why it's recommended to turn it off and enable gsync in nvidia instead). Does IDR auto-enable the driver level vsync, or the in-game one?

I have a 480hz monitor and play 90% of my time playing comp games with framerates exceeding my refresh rate I also play maxed out single player games On a seperate display At 4k, max settings, path tracing, DLAA, Ray reconstruction and i get 25-30fps depending upon the title I enjoy that visual fidelity more than the motion smoothness I will get used to the framerate very quickly, especially with things like gsync But a lower res and low settings just instantly puts me off a game

When does it support gsync?

for CS2: no cap, gsync vsync reflex (or boost) then it caps automatically the corrcet framerate

frametimes and frame pacing are so bad in the game 400 fps feels like 180 and they recommend gsync and vsync w/ reflex on which fixes the issue and makes it smoother it comes with an added latency that makes it unplayable it needs to be as smooth as csgo again for it to be great!

I'm on NVIDIA and at least with KDE Plasma, NVIDIA GPUs work nicely now. Only thing I found that was broken on them with the latest 590 driver is the absence of tearing when vsync is off. (using GSYNC/FreeSync helps with input latency in this case)

yes it looked like the photo on the left hmm well i don’t have ghosting after capping fps. i’ll try uncapping and using gsync - i just feel like gysnc was adding latency

Are you sure it looks like the screenshot where you'd see multiple copies at the exact same time? Because you might be describing something more like inconsistent frametime, where it looks more like it's jittering or 'jagged' motion. I had that issue with cs2 *unless* using gsync. It was literally unplayable for me without.

I don't know what could possibly be causing that. The ONLY way that a monitor is displaying any overlapping frames is if the old frame hasn't been fully replaced. With high hz/gaming monitors this really shouldn't be an issue when they have fast grey-to-grey response times. So whatever is happening is somehow resulting in the monitor being weird. Perhaps GSync, then framedrops are causing the monitor to switch to lower or inconsistent hz, which have a slower frame change rate? Not sure.
