🇺🇸 GE Aerospace announced the qualification of its High-Voltage Power Controller (HVPC) and Unidirectional Converter (UDC), marking both products as production-ready for U.S. military ground vehicles. @GE_Aerospace The technology was developed in collaboration with the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Ground Vehicle Systems Center (DEVCOM GVSC) and qualified at GE Aerospace facilities. These high-voltage units shift from a traditional 28-volt system to a 600-volt architecture, enabling more efficient energy conversion and battery charging while reducing weight and easing demand on the motor. This allows the motor to dedicate full power to driving the vehicle when needed. Low-rate initial production of the HVPC and UDC is anticipated in 2026, with deliveries to the U.S. Army expected to begin in 2027.

GVSC tackled a critical issue impacting MRAP vehicle readiness in South Korea—high-failure threaded studs with no existing technical data package. The team reverse-engineered the part, analyzing its material composition, and delivered a stronger, more durable solution using AM.

GVSC, along with the @1stCavalryDiv, conducted the ORION PRIME experimentation at Fort Hood, bringing together leading industry partners to demonstrate technologies to counter small unmanned aerial system threats and gather Soldier feedback to accelerate capability development.

DoD STIG 그린 레벨 인증(미 국방부 최고 보안 규격)을 통과한 유일한 금속 AM 장비다. 이 인증이 있어야 미군 기밀망인 SIPRNet에 직접 연결할 수 있다. (Velo3D 공식 보도자료, 2023.12) 그런데 이 우위가 영구적이지 않다는 점도 봐야 한다. OTA가 성공하면 비경쟁 생산 계약으로 전환된다. STIG 인증이 있으면 경쟁사가 같은 자리를 차지하는 데 수년이 걸린다. 방산 공급망에서 한번 인증된 벤더는 쉽게 교체되지 않는다. 재인증 비용과 시간이 진입 장벽이 되기 때문이다. I don't get these kind of $VELO comments. From a recent article of mine: RESET/RESTRUCTING PHASE December 9, 2024: Arrayed Notes Acquisition Corp. (subsidiary of Arrayed Additive) purchased the entire ~$27.9M remaining Secured Notes position from the previous holders (High Trail / HB SPV). December 24, 2024 – Debt-for-Equity Exchange (the single most dilutive event): The company issued 185,151,333 new shares of common stock. In exchange: cancellation of $22.4M principal $0.4M accrued interest. Fair value of shares issued ≈ $24.6M → recorded $2.6M gain on extinguishment. Remaining debt after exchange: only $5.0M principal. Result: Arrayed became ~95% owner of Velo3D (Arun Jeldi, from Arrayed, became CEO and joined the board). This was not an arms-length investment; it was a distressed debt-to-equity swap by the controlling creditor. Existing shareholders were massively diluted because the alternative was bankruptcy/liquidation. Immediate Post-Exchange Stabilization (Q1 2025) January–February 2025: Two small secured convertible notes issued to Thieneman entities ($5M $10M) — short-term bridge financing. February 24, 2025: Major warrant cleanup: exchanged ~5.95M warrants (mostly from 2024 financings) for ~14.85M shares (3:1 ratio).
