That's what's left of our tractor side window. The flail mower shot a lump of wood up and hit the buggar. Bloody ni on shit myself 🤣

Basically a poor install mate, first of all the flux wasn’t cleaned from the soldered fittings and then the boiler flow valve was installed with the draincock facing down where it should be like the one on the return side also cold inlet valve installed on its side

Yes once, turned out to be old earthing on the consumer unit. Electrician earth bonded the heating pipes in the airing cupboard. But best to be safe than sorry 👍

You need to understand how the house is earthed, then see how the internal pipes are bonded, as could be induced voltage.

There are no services from major suppliers. Parts cost was set at an average of £2 per asv when I was there, over the £2 mark you were pulled in, no bonus and expected to answer questions about parts costs.

Tightness test on service is often ommitted as it doesn't specifically say do one in MIs, nor is pipework checks. Only good engineers do them to prove no leaks..

No worries Boss. Experience tells you the red dust is a concern, but Fga 10 minute warriors never check as you know 👍

They live among us mate… the probe and go warriors… I had a blocked trap on a wosta recently where it was “serviced every year” when I asked the lady if the service engineer ever took the cover off she said no. Also not surprised by looking at the job offers I get via email🤦🏻‍♂️

I didn’t knew they had a technical bulletin for that, thank you for pointing it out. Having worked on them for over a decade that was the procedure I was following, but most of the times a bit of red dust inside the wusta will be a tell sign a gasket needs replacing.

As stated previously - common issue and 10 minute fga warriors never check these areas as covers never come off, and the gaskets go to crumbs, so always carry spare gaskets and electrodes in your kit. 👍
