He then came downstairs pretending nothing had happened and tried to convince everyone that the girl had fainted and fallen. She was admitted to hospital immediately and was in a coma. However, on Monday evening, after regaining consciousness, the girl informed her maternal uncle about the rape and murder attempt. He, along with other family members, filed a complaint at the Two Town Police Station against Gaus. Later, the magistrate recorded the victim’s statement. A case has been registered against Gaus under the POCSO Act along with attempt to murder, and he has been remanded to custody.
