As part of our 21 Days of Yéllo Care, MTN Zambia employees engaged with more than 3,000 pupils at Solwezi Day Secondary School through reproductive health awareness sessions, recognising the growing prevalence of HIV/AIDS infections among young people in Zambia. The learners and teachers also benefited from free eye screenings and spectacles services that are often beyond the reach of many ordinary Zambians thereby bringing essential healthcare closer to the community.
Under the theme “Expand Equitable Health for Every Community”, the initiative centred on providing free eye screenings and reading glasses to pupils in partnership with the OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation. In collaboration with Shade Zambia Limited, reproductive health awareness sessions also equipped learners with vital information on reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, and free counselling services, while creating a valuable platform for engagement with youth health leaders. The programme further offered MTN Zambia staff a meaningful opportunity to volunteer and connect with both learners and community members who benefited from these services.
We remain deeply grateful to our partners and community members for joining us in advancing access to quality healthcare for our communities.
