📈 Tips for Trending a Hashtag Quickly (Twitter/X)
1. Accounts with many followers—large accounts, official accounts, artist/celebrity accounts, news accounts, etc.—should help with Retweeting. When you trend a hashtag, it's easier to rank higher than with new accounts or those with few followers. (High visibility (Views) Twitter accounts also impact the trend ranking because they are highly recognized and seen by many people).
If you have fewer than 500 followers, it’s usually better to focus on retweeting and commenting (actually chatting in the replies), because that helps generate more engagement and gives larger accounts more visibility, allowing content to spread more quickly.
Also, always write complete sentences. Comments that only contain emojis can be flagged as spam, and the same goes for posting comments too frequently. It’s best to leave a 2–3 minute gap between comments, otherwise accounts can be restricted later for suspected spam activity. If that happens, your engagement may not be counted toward the trend.
2. When trending a hashtag, your tweets should not include the hashtag itself (e.g., don't use
#hashtag in the main text). You should Mention or Quote Tweet and alternate with plain tweets that use only relevant words, but not the actual hashtag, so the tweets look normal.
3. For the first 3-15 minutes, you should tweet using the hashtag along with images and videos, but AVOID using videos longer than 45 seconds ( this is not good for trending). 4. Mentions > Reposts (Retweets) > Likes > Quotes
