So if it's a flaw in street design I'd like to know and work on getting it changed. I'd assume driver error except it's been four different drivers and HandyDart drivers tend to be very cautious and attentive.

Basically for me it's a really big deal when this happens for a few reasons. One is the back of a HandyDart has very poor shock absorption. The other is my particular body - my dx = body-wide inflammation & I have multiple fractures esp in spine.

Question for drivers (esp delivery-size trucks) about visibility of speed bumps on v sunny days. A few times now - always on a sunny day - the HandyDart driver failed to see a speed bump & zoomed over it. It causes me unspeakable pain. Anyone have trouble seeing them when sunny?

Good afternoon, Gabrielle! It is completely understandable not wanting to use a taxi service after an important medical test/procedure. Unfortunately, we are not aware of the specifics for service levels on the weekends with HandyDart, though I would suggest reaching out to 1/2

As appointments for tests and procedures on the weekend at hospitals are now common, I am curious if HandyDart's staffing and budget reflects this. I never want to be forced to use taxi as replacement for HandyDart bus *especially* after a medical test/procedure @TransLink

I'm terribly sorry for the negative experience you've had with HandyDart today and the missed appointment as a result. I know it may not resolve the issues you had today but please report what happened, either through TransLink.ca/feedback or with an agent at 604-953-3333 ^at

See the thing with things like HandyDart is there are a limited number of vehicles & drivers. Many if not most trips are medical related. The need to assist people directly to the door is a must. So if you increase travel times & distance, what happens to medical appointments?

I appreciate HandyDart for all sorts of reasons but convenience and time are definitely not among them. Today I have to drop something at a lab that is less than 10 minutes away by car. Round trip on HandyDart is 3 hours - calculating from star of one window to end of other.

And the most infuriating part of Handydart is that there is no one you can hold accountable.

I call Handydart dispatch hoping I don’t get the AI-brained dispatcher and explain I need a different ride sent. The dispatcher starts looking & colleague (guessing the one who just repeats words & phrases without thinking about what she’s saying) tells her to stop &

In order to get there I booked Handydart almost full week in advance. Still, for 15 min appointment it was 6 hour day bc out of area rides were start of day, end of day.

No more watching the clock! 🎸 We’ve extended HandyDART service until 2 a.m. to match SkyTrain hours. It’s the first step in our HandyDART Customer-First Plan, giving riders like Brian more freedom to stay for the encore. 🀘 buzzer.translink.ca/2026/01/…

I reported this incident and just received a call back from HandyDart. The person who called said, "I looked into it and I really can't explain why the Dispatcher behaved that way." And just like that I felt my shoulders relax. I was speaking human to a human.
Just had the most utterly ridiculous exchange with a HandyDart dispatcher. Me: Since building isn't accessible & it's pouring rain can you pick me up at the coffee shop across the street. Her: Maybe, what's the address? I give address (58 metres away) Her: That's too far.

Star is at pick-up address (which I couldn't go in bc stairs). Pick-ups have 30 min (or longer) windows. In order to avoid sitting in pouring rain on cold & windy day, arrow points to address I asked to be picked up & HandyDart dispatch refused claiming it was too far away.

The whole f***ing point of HandyDart over normal buses is to accommodate disabled people’s need for door-to-door transportation!!!
