I think the main difference is Rivals isn't shy about making a gooner skin. They are actively flaunting this, dangling the jingly keys in our face to buy it. HiRez more often tries to be more PG about sexy stuff.
Idc if they wanna "sex sells" something, just be honest about it.

Xing Tian's basic attack is now AOE, causing him to spin. Each hit grants haste. Smouldering Rage now instead grants attack speed, and Whirlwind of Rage and Steel now removes his basic attack penalty and grants attack speed & life steal instead.

Yeah maybe HiRez at some point introduces a PVP only race of some sort, but either way this event does seem pretty fun, I remember hoping they bring speed runs back after I got Nut to radiant.

Like I genuinely don't see the issue with players choosing how they want to level up their character, if HiRez really wanted to add a element of mastery to it they would have separate mastery levels that are granted or loss based on personal ranked performance

We’ve also kinda just made every starter that isn’t bluestone or arrow turbo dogshit to accommodate them as adaptive items. If hirez wants them to be adaptive (doable!), they need to clarify their niches (conduit vs bluestone for example) and buff starters, not nerf bluestone
