Demonstrations are banned in #Syria. In the coastal region that ban is enforced when Alawites protest. In Damascus, Idlib, Aleppo and Homs where mobs and vigilantes have beaten Alawites to a pulp, it is not. It is hard to draw any conclusion other than Alawites are fair game and that the government is happy to have public anger channeled against minorities.
